Finally got through the last playthrough with a squishy mage. There is no way I'm playing a caster in Origins... first. So, how many items have you unlocked?

Poll's here.

Just two, and requiring only one more playthrough for the final unlockable item.

Got them all, still need to finish toil and trouble for 100% completion though.

Doesn't anyone think taking a survey to get an in game item really weird? Did EA think that up? I think it's pretty... stupid.

Actually I think that's one of the cleverest game designs. It both helps finding bugs and generates free market research. Remember, the game is still in beta.

I don't mind taking a survey to help them gather info on what people were thinking, but having to answer the same questions 3 times with about an hour between surveys was a little much.

+1 on clever design.

You may not like it, but if the carrot is valuable enough...

0. I hate having to jump through hoops to get the full potential out of my game. This is starting to get ridiculous.

Ya, I logged in today to find all my save games gone. My local save was there but when I loaded it - all my achievements were gone. Not sure if I'm willing to spend another few hours to get them back.

~~ The same thing happened to me...I'm hoping its not really true, like maybe its just not showing them, but I still got em. But, I have this sinking feeling they really Are gone...poop.

Since item unlocks are going to change as I play, if I continue, I'm not going to reply to the poll. However, I'm not all that concerned about the items, in general. I'm playing to see what it's like, and to get those unlockables that are easily attainable, at least, but I'm not going to go out of my way or work like mad to get others. If something doesn't come naturally during my usual gameplay, using the style of play I'm comfortable with, then I've no interest in doing it. Killing two enemies at once? Well, if I play characters that do that, that's fine, but I'm not necessarily going to create a character or put him/her in a position to do that for the express purpose of unlocking an achievement.

I think that way too. Achievement happens? Okay, no problem, continue playing. Unlocks disappear? Smeh. It's a buggy game. But hey! It's free, so I'm getting my money's worth.

I'm starting to feel the same. I've only unlocked 1 item so far, but I don't think I'll bother with the rest even if the game has all its bugs ironed out (yes, I was an early victim to the 'vanishing quest items' fiasco). While I think the flash game is awesome in its own way, I'm not so hell-bent on getting unlockables that I'd want to play through, or finish the game with 3 different characters.

I don't. Getting people to take surveys can be very difficult but very rewarding.

Agree with you. The unlockables are not important enough to care greatly about. Does having the pockets of +5% resistance make much difference in DA:O? I don't know. It might, it might not. How could I possibly know? I haven't seen the real game yet.

Now, if (to take an absurdly extreme example) they said "unlock this and you get to download the whole of DA:O now, today, for free" the servers would have smoke pouring out of them with people trying to get there.

As it is, the incentive doesn't seem important enough to care about.

DAJ is fun, but it's not important

Anyone know how to convince the Bard to join your group?

A little after you gather the genlock hearts and talk to the captain, you can ask him and he'll join.

I'm getting "Unable to connect to EA servers" when I try to log in.

Maybe it's only temporary.

I'm not to pleased that you have to play as each class to unlock the dam helmet, I'm to concerned about the items as I'm sure one will be able to get them during the game, but that dam helmet is bugging me as I'm kind of a completionist and will want to get every reward out of this little 2d game.

I like playing journeys somewhat and I doubt the items are truly necessary to play through the DAO.

For all the people complaining -- you're complaining about getting something EXTRA for free which you don't need to play the game. Some people are such babies... get over your sense of entitlement and just be grateful, or ignore the game :P.

The Survey unlockable is incentive to give the Dragon Age Journeys team feedback so they can improve current and future installments.
