I can't get vista object mountains to show up in a level I've created.

Basically I...

- dropped the model in
- positioned it
- altered the exportable area  so that the red box contained the vista but not the yellow or green box
- generated new pathing and lightmaps
- exported the level

I'm having trouble finding any good information on the subject. So any help would be great.

[The solution]
Follow the same steps as if you were adding a water mesh to your map. AKA exporting the level from the single player module and copying it over to your mods folder.

Heres a good example of how to do that. http://www.youtube.c...u/6/sPeTN3HzihE

I don't know that the vista object necessarily has to be within the red border: http://social.biowar..._market_mid.jpg

After you export the level, is it showing up in the area editor?

Are other changes to the area showing up in game? For example, if you add a placeable?

Very odd. Can you add other types of model to the level and see them in game?

If you can, that would rule out posting or folder issues.

Presumably you have "Export to Game" = True on the vista models in the level editor?

You might need to post your level file (or a stripped out version of it) for someone else to look at.

If one of you who has the problem can upload a level file which has that problem, that would help.

I'm sorry, I'm not prepared to share my level. I can however make a simple one with the exact same problem.

To get vista objects (mountains) to show up in the cutscene/Machinima I'm working on, I used the fix for getting water meshes to show up in game - i.e., in the toolset, open the level in single player, do all local posts, then cut and paste the folder to your addins folder.

There's a thread around here someplace with a more thorough explanation of how to go about this.

The safest approach is to do all level editing, rendering and posting in Single Player, period, because there are multiple issues if you don't.
