It is concrete evidence.

It's not concrete evidence that she is the parent of Liara. Whoever decided to put that in the DLC probably wears a long black coat, fashions a curly mustache and kidnaps wenches on their day off. It's just evil!

That opens up all sorts of doors: for Liara romancers, how cool would it be to have Matriarch Aethyta as your mother-in-law!

OMG you're right! Liara said she "never knew her father," but knew it was another Asari. Matriarch Aethyta and Benezia are about the same age, so that would work out. Aethyta mentions that she had a daughter, stating "I was the father; didn't work out."

but if you're romancing liara, its kinda 'graduate' status to get hit on by your girlfriends mom. and aethyta's awesome but she is super sabertooth status! just sayin'.

Haha, true dat. Hey, you never know though: in Asari culture that might be acceptable...

Yes it is and it is sad. This confirms that no one will ever talk to Shepard unless they are important to the plot or part of a mission. Aethyta seemed to be the one exception to this, just a nice gal up for an interesting chat, but once again we are reminded of how small the ME-galaxy is.

I see two possibilities with this.
On one hand, you have the "It's a small galaxy" theory.
On the other, I don't recall anything mentioning, as to how long, Aethyta has been on Illium.
Benezia could have had some way/reason, for Aethyta to stay away from Liara, while she was alive.
Afterall, Benezia was a well known, highly respected, and powerful figure amongst the Asari.
And Aethyta was a disgrace, for her views, to the point of leaving the Asari homeworld.
But, once Benezia died, there would no longer be any obstacle keeping her from seeing Liara.
The only problem, I can see her having, is how to approach Liara, after who knows how long (since Liara has no recollection of her). Telling her who she is (the father), and not having it blow up in her face.
So for now, she took a job as a local bartender, to watch over Liara, see what's become of her, and wait for when she feels the time is right.
I know the second one reeks of cliché(s), and is longer than I wanted it to be, but it is the best explaination I can think of, for now.
Edit: I wouldn't want anyone else feeling like I was intentionally misusing commas.

ya it would be sweet to be able to join in on the bachelor party talk! you know, make some either renegade or paragon opinions about strippers and such, it would be soooo much fun! but i'd rather have an amazing story and characters rather than 'gta 4' meaninglessness. but if we could have both, that would be awesome as eff.

Why the heck do you add so many commas? I'm not even being a punctuation asstard here, but that kind of misuse has to be intentional.

the second point rings true to what i was thinking since i talked to her on my first playthru. that she has liara's picture (that's definitely liara's pic, unless a mod would argue otherwise) on her table and seeming very much in deep thought about it, suggests that theory!

It also explains the slight hint of krogan skin Liara has on her lower neck and rear bottom of her neck.
Technically she's not a true pureblood.

okay...
At least it wasn't illegible due to spelling errors.
And yes you are being one, by making your little accusation about it being intentional.

Alright, fine. I am being a punctuation asstard. I'm not asking you to fix anything, and you're correct there were little to no spelling errors and it was indeed legible. And yes, it had to be intentional. Either you intentionally added commas, or whoever taught you the proper usage intentionally taught you it poorly.
Still... it was legible.

And considering all the other stuff she told you about having a pureblood daughter and an asari partner, and talking about benezia. Shes definitely the father.
