These videos seem to be updated daily. Reporter Al-Jilani is lesbian...

Are you thinking of Emily Wong? She's seen dancing with two women in one video. Well, an asari and a woman. The only vids I've seen of Al-Jilani so far have been of her getting punched by a krogan and kicked by a volus.

Keep going back. There's one more where she meets an asari. I'll guess she's rather well acquainted with them.

There's a third, in which she tongue-melds with an asari for about 30 seconds.

It could be Liara or someone who looks kind of like her. Nothing has been confirmed by BioWare and I got a feeling it won't be for quite a time.

lol....when I saw that my first thought was: "they're doing this just to screw with the forums" rofl. It looks like pretty strong evidence given what she says but it's not an absolute confirmation and some will deny it to the bitter end while others will flaunt their joy at this apparent confirmation every chance they get so flame wars are assured. I just think it's hilarious I don't really care one way or another.

I hereby declare myself a prophet...:D

It'd make for a great sidequest in ME3 where she asks Shep to swing the Normandy around to Illium before the "final battle" with the Reapers (Reapers gonna Reap), so she can hash it out with the Bartender.

But man Liara's fieryness totally comes with her "Father's" side of the DNA mixing.

Or rather her grandfather's side lol....Liara is 25% Krogan personality wise rofl.

Dude, it's the same image found in the Asari Codex entry and in Shep's cabin when Liara is the LI.

Maybe we will see a Liara and Aethyta reunion in ME 3 that would be awesome.

I was surprised to see Liara's picture - thought it was my imagination at first, but I just saw the video loop again on my last visit to the Shadowbroker's ship, and yep, it does seem to be Liara's picture that Aethyta is looking at.

Let's assume for a moment that she isn't Liara's father figure. Why the heck would the Shadow Broker be keeping regular tabs on a random bartender on Illium? All the folks in the video feeds are ones that Shepard, Liara, or both have met and know of, so the most plausible reason behind the video feeds I'd imagine are that Liara herself selected those in specific out of the gazillion the Shadow Broker has at his disposal. Whether she is Liara's father or not, what may in fact be more important is Liara's belief whether she is or not.

Which, come to think of it, would add a ton of depth to the story. The two of them believing their father and daughter, you finding out otherwise and deciding between whether to let them happily live a lie, or tell them the truth and spoil it. Would make for an interesting side quest in ME3.

I'd be happy to accept any lack of in-game excuses for the selection of vids. :)

I was hoping BW might have taken the opportunity to record some matriarch Aeythyta and admiral Xen bits, when they had Claudia Black in to do Morrigan VA for witch hunt, but a quick trip to Illium reveals nothing new, for now, at least. :P

It's perfectly likely, of course, that witch hunt dialogue was actually written and recorded, along with the base Origins content, back in the distant past...

To clear this up, Shepard should pick Thane and Garrus, get a ski mask --- and rob the bar then hold up a picture of Liara and demand her to claim it as her daughter or not --- then beat feat back to the Normandy.

The matriarch probably paid the Shadow Broker to find her daughter, and he probably keeps tabs on his customers.

Well, she's not JUST a random bartender; she's an asari matriarch only one generation removed from the Rachni Wars and the Krogan Rebellions. She's seen nearly 1,000 years of galactic history. And if she IS Liara's "father," then I can see why the Shadow Broker would have been keeping tabs on her; leverage against Liara at some unspecified point in the future, if necessary, regardless of whether or not Liara is aware of their relationship.

...Or it could be as simple as that picture is who the bartender next intends to dirty that bar with. :P   I half-expected her to try to seduce my Shepard after telling him she prefers butts to krogan war scars.

Pft. This theory is so run over, everyone knows that Ronald Taylor was angry at his son so he crashed his ship and gave birth to Miranda, but she was a disappointment after she tried to kill him. So in order to stop legion from finding Commander Shepard's body he had sexy with Matriarch Benezia because the shadow broker has crashed the stock market and needs stopping. Thus explaining why Ronald Taylor is Liara's father and also explaining why Jacob Taylor likes men.

Tangent!!! Comedy gold Captain Cornhole!!!

If she really is Liara's "father"...

I see two possibilities with this.

On one hand, you have the "It's a small galaxy" theory.

On the other, I don't recall anything mentioning, as to how long, Aethyta has been on Illium.
Benezia could have had some way/reason, for Aethyta to stay away from Liara, while she was alive.
Afterall, Benezia was a well known, highly respected, and powerful figure amongst the Asari.
And Aethyta was a disgrace, for her views, to the point of leaving the Asari homeworld.

But, once Benezia died, there would no longer be any obstacle keeping her from seeing Liara.
The only problem, I can see her having, is how to approach Liara, after who knows how long (since Liara has no recollection of her). Telling her who she is (the father), and not having it blow up in her face.
So for now, she took a job as a local bartender, to watch over Liara, see what's become of her, and wait for when she feels the time is right.

I know the second one reeks of cliché(s), and is longer than I wanted it to be, but it is the best explaination I can think of, for now.

Edit: I wouldn't want anyone else feeling like I was intentionally  misusing commas.

Actually, the "cliche" part makes alot of sense.

And, we have the video of her sitting all alone, drinking, and staring at a framed picture of Liara. That's pretty much concrete.

Liara and Matriach Aeythyta need to meet up on Illium. Hell, why don't we just throw that in with the next batch of DLC.

Nature itself demands that Aethyta is Liara's father, anything else would violate the law of conservation of detail: "Every detail given is important."

While this is a spoilers forum it seems a little exaggerated to put the "No! I am your father!" kinda spoiler right in the thread subject...
