Honestly, I figure Liara must know now, being the Shadow Broker and all. I do believe Aethyta is the father. It's possible she went to Illium--or at least moved to Nos Astra--to be close to her daughter, while working up the courage to meet her.

Also, this makes Liara 1/4th krogan. No one correct me on asari genetics.

It's not necessarily in public. Could really be just about anywhere. 

And yes, it's hypocritical, but hey, I like it. I'd love a ME3 minor quest where you can either expose her relationship, blackmail her into toning down the rhetoric, or convince her to grow and change.

I haven't noticed that anyone pointed this out yet so I'll throw it out there.



The "picture" of liara on the table is actually animated. You can clearly see her eyes moving and animation of the head moving side to side. Its impossible to say weather this is communications of some sort or if Aethyta is a complete stalker. I'd bet that they are both in communication of some sort or another and that liara may well be aware of the connection. Though I would not rule out the possibility of liara actually doing work for Aethyta on contract or something.

I think she did contracted Liara for some sort of "job" just to have reason for contacting her without dropping cover about who she really is.... OR this is just next gen 3-D picture (i want that in my Shep cabin ).

Maybe in ME 3 we will have chance to arrange metting between them (IF Bioware will pursit that part of the story.).

Onthe side note i think between her and Benezia was some sort of agreement that she will not contacting Liara unless this will be really necessary.
But now when Benezia is dead she is her closest possible relative.

Maybe Shiala will help us to convince Aethyta to meet with Liara^_^.

Yeap. Keep in mind that there's no actual genetic material being transfered during an Asari mating. Random traits are picked up, particularly psychological tendancies.

Also, why are you assuming Benezia and Aethyta are "100% asari" (assuming that that actually means something)? Given public opinion on "purebloods" it seems unlikely that both, and all their ancestors, are the result of asari/asari unions.

I should point out that I deliberately asked everyone not to correct me on asari genetics in any case. Too complicated. I was merely pointing out that Liara has a krogan ancestor, and that is funny.

Aethyta has to be Liara's 'father'. Who else would have a photo of a person on their table besides someone that loves them. Meaning either a lover or a parent, and i can't see Liara getting romantically involved with anyone at this point, besides Shepard of course.
