For those who played Witch Hunt. Where do you think it leads?
My Warden went through with her to be together at last.

My guess is The Black City.
But I am not sure. She said something beyond the Fade and thats all I know that beyond basically.

The Dragon Age Wiki says that the Black City is within the Fade.

I do wonder what lies beyond the Fade, hm.

Arlathan, perhaps.

But the Black City is basically unreachable in the Fade. You can see it but can't get to it so it is basically beyond because it was once the Golden City where people think the Maker himself lived.

And as for Arlathan, I dont know because that is still in the Thedas. Unless there is another Realm there. The mirror looked Dark so its could be Black City

But we all know Morrigan isnt really Evil. She has good intentions and she shows it a little when we Romance her.

I'm very rarely on live atm because of having a new baby but i'll add you next time I'm on.
Here's what I wrote in my thread supporting your theory:

1.Morrigan is in the Golden City.

Morrigan needs to go somewhere where she feels safe and at the end of WH she says shes going to some
place which is not in this reality or in the fade, so that only really leaves The Golden City/Black City.
The Tevinter Imperium used and created these mirrors for something powerful hence why she's using it,
what if the mirror is what The Imperium used to access the Golden city  and corrupt it?
The reason why she would go there and be safe is because Flemeth cannot enter it because of what I believe her to be.

Well send me a message replying to this because I don't want to spoil people kinda! Haha but the  gold city is now the black city as I read in Origins. But what do you think happens to my Warden who entered with her? She did say "come my love for we shall see what the future hold together". Do you think anything bad is going to happen to the warden?

Yeah it's the Black City now because The Tevinter Magisters entered it against the makers will and currupted it with help of the old gods.  Which is considered the first SIn on mankind and is ultimately what lead to the first Blight.

I don't personally think anything bad will happen to the Warden, if Bioware were going to have something bad happen I think they would have done it by now.  I think the they lived happily ever after will apply to him, well until DA2 anyway.

Well I hope nothing happens to the Warden. Because it is the Black City haha. Isn't it like full of evil now? I didn't fully read on it. But I hope Morrigan doesn't abandon my Warden again so I will have to go through that searching again! But it might be that way. I feel that in DA 2 or DA 3 that you will have a choice to save Morrigan at the cost of your life. Seems to be how things work in DA. But thats just a thought. I doubt i'm right but that would be something.

Its most likely gonna be another adventure to save Thedas with your Warden and Morrigan together still. What was your ending?

My thing is, didn't Duncan smash one of the Mirrors, he felt a true evil that was looking back at him or wanted to come out of the mirror? I may be wrong. I just happen to think If Morrigan and the Warden go to the Black CIty would they not have to like kill countess evil beings, or if the Maker is there, he might not like them coming, alot of open plot lines here. I think it leads to Arlathan. I dont think the city sunk away, I think it was moved beyond the fade and that is where Morrigan the baby and the Warden are.

But remember Tamlen? He said he saw a city when he touched the mirror. Also, that something that was there saw him, too (IIRC)

The thing is Morrigan said what lies beyond the mirror is beyond the Fade- and the Black CIty is supposedly the center of the Fade. As for Tamlen, he does say that he saw a city underground and something was watching him. But that mirror was corrupted, while the one Morrigan found wasn't. And also, I'm guessing each mirror likely is linked to a different place, so wherever Tamlen went via the mirror was a different place than where Morrigan is going.

But the only thing we know is that beyond the Fade is where you'd go when you die- Justice mentions this in Awakening when helping the people trapped by the Baroness. Doesn't mean Morrigan or the Warden died, but just that we have no clue what lies beyond the Fade- it could be anything really- maybe its yet another world that the Maker created?

We only know it's not Thedas and not the Fade, anyway, I suppose it's some habitable place since she's raising the child there, protected from Flemeth it seems.

My Warden went through the Eluvian with her so, wherever it is I hope they can rise the Old God child together.

That is where this even gets better. We will be on here trying to figure out where Morrigan and the Warden left to. I have to think it's a good place, but where it is and what it is, is of the unknown.

I know in a codex it talks of the Warden falling off the face of the earth and not heard from again but they didn't think it was the last they would hear of him. So to me at some point the Warden and Morrigan will come back, after they train the child or what if Flemeth finds them, she is no idot and she even gives me the feeling that if DA is to have a final boss, it is her.

I think Flemeth will find a portal to the Fortten ones, old bad gods and use them to help her in doing to the world what she has always wanted, thats where Hawke comes into play. I think she will try to trick him to get things she needs to get to this relam. I think there were 3 fortten old gods, that were pure evil and then you have Flemeth telling them what to do or they make a deal with each other.

I think that all we really know is that the Black City is visible to those within the fade. I don't think that it is accessible from within the Fade so it might not actually be part of the fade.

Yeah, my guess is that it is a place only Morrigan can go beyond Flemeth's reach...as the mirror only has one more use. It is probably somewhere beyond time/space...another dimension--different than the fade.

Agreed. Justice states that when mortals die they go beyond the fade(I think). Seems that there is some aspect of the Black City that exsists beyond the fade.

My theory....that I posted on some thread that I have completely forgotten about is that there is an "afterlife", which some have already alluded to in this thread. Just like "nowadays" in Thedas people connect to the fade, I kinda figured that waaaay back when the Elves were connected to the "afterlife." This is what gave them their immortality. Now this idea isn't fully worked out at all (I am having difficulty with explaining how the Elves were cut off - though I am a fan of the elven trickster god locking away the elven gods, in turn becoming "the Maker" and locking away the "afterlife" world and made his own world for human and elves to go to when they dream - after all, what are dreams but tricks of the mind?  However, he was not able to destroy the original "afterlife"....and people still are drawn to there when they die, because that is where their original "creators" intended them to go)

I also think blood magic stems from this "afterlife" - This is why blood magic is so powerful, because it draws from this greater realm. It also explains why a mage, using power from the fade, can't bring someone back to life. Now a blood mage bringing someone back to life? Its not explored to my knowledge in DA, but maybe?

These mirrors are ancient, and found in elven ruins, usually, so perhaps they are a connection the this "afterlife" place.

Just my .02.

Edit:  Ohh...just a thought - this is also why the Chantry has banned "blood magic" because they serve the "Maker" which is really the trickster god.  This God wants humanity and elves to lose all connection to this "afterlife", thus he convinced the Chantry to ban blood magic.  Oh dear...I am going off topic a wee bit....

Exactly, it's a second cypher.  Morrigan should have drove a Mako through it.

I just played the Dalish Elf Origin, and it's pretty clear that it is the Black City. He says he sees a city, underground, and it's black. Plus, darkspawn tainted it, and was drawn from it... but who knows the difference between that mirror and the witch hunt one.
