I haven't been able to find if anyone else has had this problem or not.  Even on my console it seems to lack consistency. 

My wife and I have been playing both DA:O and Awakening.  We each beat DA:O and imported our characters without any problems into Awakening.  Yesterday we each beat it again with our secondary characters.  As we tried to start a new game of Awakening by importing these characters we had problems. 

We selected the import character option and all of our DA:O characters appeared.  However, our secondary characters took the default form and didn't look like our customized characters.  Our primary characters were fine.  Even my tertiary character looked fine (I didn't want to import that character because he had only finished his origins story). 

We just figured that there was a problem with the import screen and thought it wasn't loading fast enough or something.  We tried to import one of our secondary characters.  When we did so it loaded and during the opening cinematics the character looked like the default character, not our customized version.  When we first we able to control the character it started to do an autosave.  Then the xbox froze.  While it was frozen we noticed that the second party member was dead (it had the skull icon in their profile picture). 

Furthermore, it corrupted our last save file in DA:O.  I thought maybe we just needed to load DA:O again and save it so that it would import from that save point.  But the last save file (the autosave) had become corrupted.  We loaded from a previous save point and saved it again.  Then we tried to import from that specific save point but we still had the same problem. 

The thing that really confuses me is that it is only a problem with two of our five DA:O characters.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

Ok, I've done some more research and I think that this may have been triggered by the Game Save Errors/Corrupted Save Files described on the wiki page.  This bug corrupts a save file if you sell too many items to one vendor.  Every item I sold was to Bodahn and not any of the other vendors.  Apparently it was fixed with a patch that was release about one month ago and that is the reason I have been able to continue playing all the way through to the end of the game saving and reloading without any problems. 

However, my save file is still corrupted as I try to import it into Awakening.  Anyone know if my thoughts on this subject are correct?  Does anyone know if there is a fix for it?  Or is the problem really that I didn't download and install the patch like I thought it did?

I has this exact problem yesterday and it's infuriating. I've imported Origins characters to Awakening before with no problems. Now, I've just finished Origins with the intention of playing the whole lot with the same character, and the character won't import.



Does anyone have a solution to this?
