So can anyone tell me if 'romancing' Kelly Chambers has an effect on on your relationship with Liara?
I would really like to know for my next playthough.

Since if it does, I wont be 'hooking up' with Kelly, even on a friendly basis.

No, w/ one caveat. For some reason I did not get the last email to bring Kelly up to the room, however I flirted w/ Kelly often enough to get her to feed my fish. There may be one more flirt after that, not sure. Whatever the case, it did not affect the Liara romance.Kelly was never mentioned.

I cant quite "confirm" if this is how it works with Kelly but in order to get the last "email" from her I think you have to actually "talk" to the other LIs and "turn them down" Because I had the same problem in the past but once I had spoken with all the other LIs and turned them down, I actually got the email from Kelly.

You dont have to turn any one down. Simply talk to her after every mission and have a meal with her. Save her at the end and then talk to her. After that do a little mission or something and then she should tell you about a private message.



Doing all this has no effect on Liara.

I tried that a couple of times but it never took...It wasnt until I turned everyone down until I got the email...*shrugs* Oh well, irrelevant to the original topic lol...I dont know yet myself though because I havent gotten around to that yet.

I have a similar question. In just being the nice hero I am, I invited Liara to visit the normandy the next time I'm nearby. My intention was that she hasn't seen the new Normandy. I think she may have interpreted it as something different. I hope I haven't messed up the faithful LI run I've had up until now.

Unless you actually made out with her then it probably didnt affect anything.  My last run through I invited her aboard and actually just talked to her with nothing else happening...Basically "RP'd" as a "Vent Session" as in when she asked me how I "REALLY" felt about whats going on and not just what I tell the crew to keep morale up.

Same here, some people are assuming that if you invite her onto your ship its an automatic booty call/romance.

This is as far from the truth as possible, basically she just wants to talk, and if your in a romance with someone else she mentions that and is glad for you.

I have no idea how to get her to 'fall' for Shepard if he is already in a romance.

You need to talk to kelly every time you return to the normandy. You should be able to have dinner with her right before/after the IFF mission. If you saved her (and every crew member), she will send you a message straight after the suicide mission and 'entertain' you.

As for it's affect on the LI, the picture isn't face-down afterwards, which I assume means there is no affect.
Plus, there is no cut-scene. you can see a vid of it on youtube.

nope i got kelley to give me a appointment and i was able tostill bang miranda, i did this after the suicide mission btw, what you can do is when a female squadmate says do you still wanna have a romance decline by saying lets just be friends and when you complete the final mission for some reason you can still bone the one that asked you

I managed to get Kelly as my "romance option" in one game. She sent me that email and I can call her up to my room now. If I get Lair of the Shadow Broker, am I correct in believing that Liara will bascially not notice this in effect?

Banging Liara doesn't seem to have any consequences to any subsequent romance, other than a feeling of guilt, especially if you took the "marriage, blue alien babies" line. The Liara romance makes the others quail in comparison, if not only for the fact that she actually talks to you like you're a human being. Problem is I always roleplay a philandering bastard Shepard who's interested in nothing but a no-nonsense shag, but I just can't keep that up considering how fantastic and meaningful the final normandy scene is.

hmmm, don't work for me, thougt liara romance didn't count as a romance in ME2

Doesn't count for the Paramour achievement, but otherwise is absolutely an ongoing romance if you did the deed in ME1. And she will know if you played away from home with one of the ME2 LIs and get ****ty with you about it. But I think Kelly doesn't count as a real LI so Liara might not say anything about that. My last game my Shep romanced Liara in ME1 and then flirted with Kelly to get the fish fed, but otherwise stayed faithful (and who knows, maybe it really was just dinner). When I did LotSB Liara was as if nothing had happened.
