At the end of Witch Hunt, Morrigan mentions that she has left you a gift (and the book that Arianne was searching for). Is it ever elaborated upon what the gift was or does?

No. For all we know the gift may just be a reference to the rewards you get for completing WH.



Or it could be something meaningful and due to bugs we were never able to find out.

I'd like to know about this too. She mentions something is there "of great interest". It even has sparkly motes on it in the cut scence, and I heard a sound that made me wonder if something was added to inventory or codex, but then the game cuts to credits. There is no autosave so I can't reload and look for it.



Any more info would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering about that myself. I saw the book but the way it ended I never saw what gift I was given. WTF?They could at least have at least done the DLC so that you walk out of your own accord, see what gift it was if you do not follow Morrigan.  Do some small slide epilogue and call it a done deal.  It was kinda like how Awakenings ended. Bam and that was it.   Unless the gift is associated with DA2 somehow but don't see that being an option.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, will play it again, and my curiousity is sated somewhat but still.

Someone already mention this but perhaps it really is a cure for the taint? I know that would be really helpful for my noble warden female. Apparently the throne of Ferelden isn't even worth Morrigan's little Dragon God boy's time

Apparently there is supposed to be an autosave at the end. When the fix is released we'll get to find out.

That is all kinda confusing. It just seems to cut off before you get a chance to look at the book. You get a bunch of items but theres no book so what became of it?

I wonder what it was, too, but I also wonder, what does it matter? This is the last game with our Warden, so unless it's something that would import to DA2 - and why would that be, since Hawke didn't get the reward - why give us anything?

I'm not the most romantically minded person in the world, but I'll admit I'm with Mione and hope it's something for the taint. But then again I'm of the mindset that Marlana (my HFN) accomplished so much thought to be impossible, that overcoming the issue of the taint is just a bump in the road.



And she's good at stomping things that get in her way.

There is no answer. You don't learn what the gift is. Those who had the patch tried loading the autosave and found all it does is load the closing credits to the DLC.

How do you transfer the reward to your character, and if it just... does it, then how do you know whats a reward?

well, when I played WH with a second character, he had in his inventory the bow, and some other stuff (don't actually remember what) that you pick up in game. So maybe those are the "gifts". Haven't started a new awakening or origins run since playing WH, so I don't know if those would transfer to there.

The bow and other stuff are the items you get for all your characters like with the stuff from Leliana's Song and Golems.

I doubt we'll find out what it is until at least DA2 and then we might not even find out there. Although, the devs wanting there to be a post-game save sounds like there's potential for it to matter or at least be mentioned in DA2.

The patch passed beta testing, they are now testing the installer, and hope to release it Monday.

Heh, well, mine wouldn't go for that, not if she can't cure Alistair as well
Although she might give it to another Warden. And if it applies to all Wardens, hmmm, why not. 

Then again, a stuffed toy Old God would be cool. Especially if it's fluffy...

So has anyone figured this out yet? I was thinking that if you did Witch Hunt first, then Golems, the character imported to Golems might have the "something of great interest" in the inventory.

Anyone?
