To me this further suggests what I've always thought, that at the highest levels, Cerberus and the Alliance work in conjunction. Of course the Alliance could never publicly acknowledge this as Cerberus is seen as terrorists. So naturally the Alliance would want to investigate one of its officers they thought was now double dealing with Cerberus, and naturally the parties who really know what's going on quickly put the lid on it.

I agree...creepy how the Alliance wants to arrest you....and its nice to know that both Anderson and Hackett you're crazy...
I think the Alliance is just doing what they're supposed to. You can't blame them for wanting to detain and question Shepard, really.
But your boy Hackett was watching out. Possibly because he'd already launched his own sneaky little investigation involving Anderson and Williams/Alenko. Also, months? I'm sure Hackett understands the real threat and knows that the red tape and paperwork involved in detaining Shepard would take months, and by that time more colonies would be lost. So basically without giving it away to the people requesting this he was like "I'm handling this quietly, b*tch."

I did like this. That response might as well have been "you're sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, son."

Ahhhh... maybe THIS was the data that Kasumi's partner discovered. How it would implicate the Alliance if ever discovered by the Council!! Interesting.

But...do you think Shep will get arrested at the start of ME3 or put on trial?
it would be an interesting twist

It is certainly a possiblity. ANd no matter what, Shepard have done things throughout both games that can be seen as him trying to endanger the security of council space.
And if any of you bring up the "But my Shep was a specter" remember than Saren was also a specter during the ME1 prologue, but that didn't stop the council from removing his specter status and demand that he should be brought to justice due to his actions (granted that they needed evidence first).

I agree with TMA. If he's in game, have him with a helmet on. If not to keep him a mystery then only for some entertaining outburst like when Tali's face wasn't shown in the ME2 romance.

I think that it would somewhat ruin the idea of Hackett if he was shown. Everyone has this different image of him and only a voice to go on. Adding a face might dissapoint a few people and take away a bit of 'mystery'.

Yeah but I think the majority of us would assume he would look a bit like Lance Henriksen (the guy who voiced him in Mass Effect and has starred in countless sci-fi movies). They made TIM look like Martin Sheen and Miranda's face was based on Yvonne Strahovski, so it ain't as if it something they haven't done before.

If I don't get to meet you and shake your hand in ME3, I will be very. Disappoint. ಠ-ಠ
Seriously though, what with Udina being....Udina.... and with Anderson's hands hopelessly tied up in red tape, it's nice to know someone in the Alliance still has your back.
