Yeah, really. Then there are places like Hochelaga Maisonneuve...at 3 in the morning...which are even further removed.

A bit late to the thread (sigh, timezone differences) but YAY! Dalish are going to be Welsh :D This totally fits with my Celtic ideas of them that I was already writing into my own fanfic. Now I can start basing Elvish on Welsh instead of Irish or Gaelic.

An aside, my husband was complaining last night while I played through Leliana's Song because Tug kept saying sodding. I tried explaining to him that just because they had English voice-actors for the game didn't mean the dwarves got that sort of treatment. Just worth noting in an accent thread, I suppose.

So do Americans and Canadians, like dislike each other.

I would say the closest parallel I could make between American and Canadian relationship At its worst would be the like City/Country divide. American at their worst are dismissive or simply don’t notice Canadians and Canadians consider the American arrogant while considering themselves somehow morally superior (For being so awesomely like a 100 times more humble and in no way compensating a slight inferiority complexImage IPB). In the end though the two countries are probably the most similar separate nations on the planet, so any animosity is usually good natured.

But this is off topic

I think the American-Canadian relationship is similar to the Aussie-Kiwi one. Or maybe I have no idea.

No, that's very true. Calling a Canadian an American is pretty similar to calling a New Zealander an Australian. Except that we'll be much more quietly offended and will apologize to the wall when we bump into it after spinning on our heel to angrily storm off.

Wait.

Wait wait wait.

There's actual walls in Edmonton? You don't just live in a giant igloo made of snow walls? I'm moving over.

Dave, do you say Eh? At the end of your sentences? lol

I used to think I didn't, until Mary began pointing out every time I used it. So, yes, on occasion I do indeed.

I do not, however, use "lol" at the end of my sentences like punctuation. So I yet hold my head high. :P

Gaider owned you...:D

It's funny, I know a guy who played hockey for Boston College and then went into the AHL for a bunch of years. After so many years in the AHL environment, he has a bit of a Montreal accent now.

...You know what I suddenly realize? Sten doesn't have an accent! Huh.

edit: As in, a specific qunari accent.

Sten *sort of* sounds like that Qunari you run into in Awakening, but maybe that's just the monotone, dryness of the speech in general. Oh no, someone is going to start a "What accent should Qunari have?" thread now..

Oh, yes. Rob Brydon companion, thanks.

Though I am still baffled as to why you would suddenly change an accent when it's already been established.

That's a pretty good analogy. And you Canadians are so adorable! Lucky for you guys I hate being cold or you'd all have to deal with my presence.

You are! You're supposed to hate me because I speak English and am American. I feel a little cheated here, Dave. You're going to have to step up your game.

If you're only confused at the end, you don't understand my complex mind.
