As one poster eloquently put it, asking for a DLC about a specific character means you're likely to get back pure fanservice and nothing else. The DLC has to be tied to the main storyline and furthers it.
But Tali was an aspect of the main storyline in ME1. She's the reason you become a Spectre in the first place--her evidence against Saren is what revokes his Spectre status. There's also this on-going conflict with the quarians and the geth, and the continued discrimination against both. (Geth for good reason, quarians because they're the scapegoats of the situation).
A "Tali DLC," doesn't mean there'd be a DLC that's solely focused around her. It's not any more unreasonable than asking for a DLC featuring Ashley and Kaidan. Yes, Ashley and Kaidan are important characters, but a lot of supporters want more substance to a DLC than smexy scenes and admiration. We want DLC that furthers the plot in the ME universe, and makes it relevant. The same can be applied to Tali, Wrex, and the recent Liara DLC.

Since when did a small population of Space Gypsies become the center of the frickin' universe? People act like the damn quarians are somehow crucial to the success of the fight against the Reapers. Really? They seem kinda stupid to me, ready to declare Tali a traitor unless she proves herself otherwise. Guilty until proven innocent? Eff you, Admiralty, I'll hire some Blue Suns or something, kthnxbai.
You are aware they have the largest fleet in the Galaxy right? Kind of one of the major reasons we need them on our side in ME3 seeing as how the Reapers are ships.

Theres already far too much Tali. Anyone else but her, even Jacob would be better.
God I can't believe I just said I would prefer Jacob content. But its out there, I said it.
We've seen what happens with Jacob content... Forbidden Planet meets Lord of the Flies.

Bioware said LoTSB marks the beginning of the story bridging DLC's. So expect stuff that tells the story between the games, not specific squad members.

Agreed. I love Tali but the loyalty mission and involvement in ME1 and ME2 is plentiful enough. Bring on more story bridging awesomeness.

Pardon me; I didn't see your sig. While I think that a better way could have been found to deal with the Tali thread, I believe that discussing moderator decisions is off-topic, so I shall not comment further. My sympathies, anyway. I hope the discussion groups are going well.magnuskn wrote...
If you look at my signature, you should see that I actually am a Tali fan. I am just massively torqued off at the massive moderation fail which is the banning of all Tali threads. The most popular companion of ME2 and all discussion of her is banned on the official forums? Wow. Surely there was a better way to handle the derailment of the massive Tali thread, like banning the people who were doing the derailment.
Now you have someone ask about a Tali DLC, and 90% of it is people metaphorically spitting on the character? Excellent moderation to scare all Tali supporters away from the forums.

If it was however a part of an Expansion that allowed you to play as Tali, Garrus and Wrex during Sheps 2 year long Siesta then Im all for that (Imagine playing as Wrex on Tuchanka, or Garrus Vigilanteing on Omega).

A DLC going more into the Geth/Quarian relationship would be cool, if it is not already going to be in ME3.

I'm all for this, would add more to those characters' backgrounds, how Garrus got his group started, Wrex's quest to unite the clans, and how Tali was chosen to lead a group on Freedom's Progress/more on the dark energy crisis (maybe even something that involved Golo in the Liara comics).

instead.. i would love a collection of like.. XBLA games or iphone/ds games that focus on garrus and his squad of merc harassers, thane and his life as an assassin, including perchance meeting his wife in the way he described and such. stuff like fleshing out the background of characters for fans instead of like game-changing decisions.
also to all you naysayers saying the me2 characters will only have cameos... you should have more faith in bioware. i think they will bring back our favorite squadmates. i think, if they're alive, tali, garrus, miranda, jack, and jacob will stick around. and maybe legion. that's only 6. there were 13 possible squadmates in me2. and a lot of people never even got morinth. and if all of those characters die your game maybe will only have whatever 6 new/old squadmates they decide to add.

Remember, DLC's are made to add to mysteries and loose ends in a game --- there's not much further you can do or say about Tali that can't be in ME3 and I think more talents and resources should go into the Ashley/Kaiden route.

If they were going to make another character based DLC, I'd want to be about a character that didn't return as a squadmate for ME2. Ashley and Kaiden would be the obvious choice(s), since they are both Alliance and one of them survives into ME2. You could easily use either one in a DLC dealing with the Alliance. Wrex isn't an option for DLC, as he could be dead also, but unlike Ash or Kaiden there is no similar character from ME1 that could be used as a replacement if he died.
I think there should be a Tali comic however where here face is revealed. This would be win-win for Bioware. They'd be guaranteed to make a profit since many of the Talimancers would buy it just for the reveal, and they wouldn't have to show her face in ME3. Nerd rage from the Talimancers that don't like her face (there are guaranteed to be some, no matter how she is represented) would also be lessened due to the fact that it was only portrayed in a comic. Those that don't like her face in the comics can always imagine something else in the game.

They could use Tali/Legion to visit the quarian home World, discover secrets(dark energy, fix immune system) and or fix/hurt relations between the two races.
If anything proper bridging DLC could help ME3 focus more so on the reapers.

I would rather they save this for ME3 in order to fully explore it, complete with missions, dialogs, interrupts, persuasions, politics and all the other stuff associated with the Geth-Quarian conflict. This is such a rich story arc, I would rather they not waste it on a DLC.
