Alright. For those of us that want to play the complete game before we actually start playing, I'm wanting to compile a list of all "Extra" gear available from any variety of sources. A "check list" of sorts for those that will work to find ways to get "the full package" before committing to DA:O. I'm not sure if this belongs in the spoiler forum or not, but we never know what kind of information may or may not crop up.

Item - Official way of distribution.

Blood Dragon Armor - All fresh (non-second-hand) copies.
Lucky Ring - Upload a character from the game/character creator onto the social site.
Bergen's Honor  - Collector's Edition/Digital Deluxe Edition.
Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes - Collector's Edition/Digital Deluxe Edition.
Final Reason - Collector's Edition/Digital Deluxe Edition.
Embri's Many Pockets - Complete "Missing Warden" quest in Dragon Age: Journeys.
Amulet of the War Mage - Complete all 3 surveys in Dragon Age: Journeys.
Helm of the Deep - Unlock all 5 achievements in Dragon Age: Journeys.
Formari Memory Band - Pre-order (various).
Guildmaster's Belt Pre-order (GameCrazy).
The Lion's Paw Boots - Pre-order (Amazon.com).
Dalish Ring - Pre-order (Direct2Drive).
Band of Fire - Pre-order (EA Online Store).
Feral Wolf Charm - Pre-order (Gamestop).
The Wicked Oath - Pre-order (Steam).
The Edge - Pre-order Best Buy? Collector's Edition only?

As you can see, they amass to a fair amount of booty. Gotta catch 'em all! (:?)
This is definately one part of metagaming I could do without. But regardless, I'll try to keep it up to date in case something new crops up, as long as someone keeps me informed.

Updated: Thanks Sparkis.

You left out the Lucky Ring for uploading a character.

Completely missed that that even existed. Thanks. I've already started collecting and didn't even notice. :P

Bestbuy claims to be giving away the Lucky Stone, Lions Paw, and Edge a dagger that "adds a lot to damage, melee crit and attack."

Thanks JMOR. Updated.
I'm going to assume that the Lucky Stone is the Lucky Ring until something suggests otherwise.

I wonder if someone would actually pre order from every distributor just to have ALL of the exclusive items. Myself I pre ordered the CE Edition from EA.

Varenus Luckmann you spelled Buy in Best Buy wrong under "The Edge"

The Guildmaster Belt is also available from Game.se (and I guess other GAME outlets as well).

Shale and the Blood Dragon Armor are for all new copies of the game.

I assume you'll be able to buy them through BioWare at some point.

I sure hope that Electronic Bioware Arts haven't gone that greedy, yet. That'd mean they'd hunt down those that seek ways to include said items into the game without paying, because it'd basicly constitute piracy. It'd mean no toolset solutions or similar.

I remember back in Baldur's Gate II, with the Pre-order and Collector's Edition merchants. While far from the debacle that is the promotional parade of Dragon Age, they never tried to persecute those that shared the relevant files or installers, adding the 'stuff' to regular copies.

I wish there were some way to get all of these items without pre-ordering 15 copies of the game...

But then again, my first run through I want to try not using any of these items unless I find that I need their advantages to continue, know what I mean?

Shouldn't it be possible to Create all the items in the Mod toolset? I'm guessing that will happen rather quickly after release.

I hope this is the case for GAME uk, but they certainly dont say anything on their website about it...just maybe it'll be a surprise bonus for us Brit's to make up for everything we are not getting included.

Given that it is supposedly the second best helm in the game, does anyone else think it sounds a bit poor?
The details of the Helm you get to unlock in DA: Journey's (Helm of the Deep) sounds and looks far better.

I guess we'll only know once we actually get to play.

It should be entirely possible to create the items with the mod toolset, or extract it from someone that already has the things installed, or reverse-engineer the installers, depending on how it all works.

What's somewhat ironic in my opinion is that by doing all this "for new copies"-register-game-for-free-stuff, they are indirectly pushing people towards piracy. Because there are those that want all the items, there will be a "market" in the piracy scene for adding these extra items to circumvent the need to register the game. This will indirectly help those of us that have a legit copy of the game, but only through contact with the piracy scene. Thus, new pirates are born simply because the scene offers a superior "product", free from registrations and limitations.

I'm not entirely sure if what I just wrote makes sense or not. I've been up for a good 24 hours now and I'm high on coffee. But that's what I think.

I'm not sure that modding items or giving console codes to unlock them is exactly piracy. It's not like you are making an illegal copy of the game.

It really depends on how EA wants to play this. They may be adamant that you can't share game resources between installations or copies. For all we know, the promotional items aren't even in the base game at all and you have to download them to install them. That requires some kind of installer - and some are notoriously picky as to what you're allowed to do.

For all we know, they can consider it just as bad as sharing DLC. Which is piracy.

I agree, if the items are downloadable content and not items already coded into the game, then yes, i guess it would be piracy.

If the items are already coded and just unlocked though, or you just get the codes to mod them in via console commands, then it no, it shouldnt be considered piracy.

It actually appears like you get both the Guildmaster's Belt and the Formari Ring from GAME.se if you order the Collector's Edition (The Guildmaster's Belt is noted in the Collector's Edition, but not in the regular copy of the game, while the Formari Ring is listed as a general pre-order item for both).

At EB Games in Australia we get the Memory Band, the Lion's Paw, the Dalish Ring and the Feral Wolf Charm as pre-order bonuses. (Source) Probably because there's not much (if any) competition down here ;)

I was going to get my copy from EB but decied Steam, i didn't want to pay again for Wardens Keep. Also the piracy thing will be unavoidable.

Having just checked the latest, GAME.uk are giving the Dalish Promise Ring as a pre-order bonus (great for us Elves).
