You realize that declining interest can manifest itself in forms other than stomping off in a snit? I've not played Witch Hunt so I don't have an opinion about it, but in general I'd say that there seems to be a disconnect between what you are designing and what marketing is selling. It's not really the players' fault that when promised answers they expected answers.

I'm okay with loose ends. Lets me use my imagination. But I will admit, I was very upset with the resolution of Witch Hunt, but that could just be the endgame bug ruined my experience. I won't know until I try it again, hopefully with a patch.

As for the Warden, I'm happy that story is done. I really can't see how his/her story is pretty much set from then on, and it's not like the Wardens live into a ripe old age filled with adventure. Given how many different ways the story can go, I am hard pressed to imagine HOW on earth someone could take the same character and put them in a new story. How would you start it? Everyone would probably be furious, crying at the heavens 'no, my Warden wouldn't do that!'

I will be happy as long as there's a couple of lines or clue about how my Warden changed the world, or how they're doing. I want vague hints, and as long as my Warden's story is handled with respect, I'll be happy.

And eagerly playing a new adventure, after new adventure.

I stuck with D&D threw 1st Edition, was happy with second .... so so with 3rd and LOVED 3.5 ..... 4th not so much .... errr but my point is, in a fantasy game (table top or no), the story always changes. Things happens, new heros come, old ones pass into legend. If DA2 isnt what 'SOME' DAO fans are looking for, wait till 3, or what ever, things will change again. It isnt a bad thing, its honestly the ONLY way to create a living world in a this type of fantasy world.

Maybe a DA MMO will come out one day, and youll never have to retire your character (Truth be told, Im not happy about leaving my Warden behind, but Im not going to jump ship over it either), untile then. A second game is what it is ... a NEW game.
