The idea for the thread is good, but the bickering like little children isn't. Sad how many people just can't accept that everyone has the right to their own opinion and fills up the pages with pointless flaming.

Cut out the insults and personal attacks, folks.

We welcome everyone to share their opinions on these forums. However, that doesn't extend to insulting each other.

After seeing how all the Bioware staff have avoided the Nug Bombs question, I'm starting to wonder WHY.

Because our tolerance for silliness is restricted to silliness of our own creation.

What was the story of DAO? Stopping the
blight. Is this done? Yes. Bioware are working on a large canvas, a
story analogous to series like A Song of Ice and Fire, Wheel of Time or
Malazan: Book of the Fallen. Such large stories use multiple characters
and locations.

I would say this is true. Not the direct comparison to those stories, of course, but more the large canvas part. Naturally someone's only going to react to the little corner of it they can see now, but that's fine. Maybe in the end some people won't be happy after all-- in fact I guarantee you there'll be some, and they'll race to the internet to quickly register their disapproval-- but we'll get there in our own time, and it will be good.

But will anyone understand our brilliance? OUR BRILLIANCE, I TELL YOU!

...ahem. Probably not. :D

Aye... ok - I understood the potential awesomeness of the structure. It's all about expectations - thank you for taking some time to help adjust them. Also the big 'Who's really evil?': Flemeth or Morrigan or both, is greatly interesting and welcome (why are so many taking Morrigan's word at face value?). I was hoping the mad scientist in the Keep would keep my Warden's taint at bay, but I can let go (a big surprise return wouldn't go amiss though).

Could we just have a little sorry for the misdirection that a grand crescendo moment was about to happen in the DA universe with Witch Hunt? (I mean as the player Warden point of view - which you haven't yet overturned with your new playing style invention - and if it was marketing make them do it)

The lack-of-warden boycott will last approximately as long as it takes for the first few reviews to pop up on Metacritic. From that point on the game will be judged on its own merits.

That's my prediction, anyway.

...wait, Bioware has explicitly promised answers to things? Where?

Was it part of the EULA?

Maybe some folks in this thread should have paid more attention to Leliana's line about people reading promises from things.

The headlines for Witch Hunt said 'Morrigan's secrets revealed"  when we learned next to nothing.  The only thing we learned that was noteworthy is that Flemeth is...

*SPOILER*

Not an abomination, or even truly human,

1) What happens to Finn we can infer that he was going to die from what the statue said

Finn took it to mean that he was going to die, but he was wrong. What the statue saw was that Finn would not return to the tower to speak with her. I always saw Finn and Ariane as a duo. After Witch Hunt, they go off together and have fun little adventures.

Oh yay! I like this interpretation much better.

Actually the first time I heard that line I just thought she was telling him to buzz off because she found him annoying. Maybe she's beyond annoyance though. I imagine any conversation at all is better than staring at the wall.

i could say the same thing in that i know people who'll buy this game from portugal, spain, france, greece, germany, brittain, holland, japan, normandy, the U.S.A and more.

my point being, you can't count yourself plus a few foreign acquaintances as the majority.
and i'm willing to believe your acquaintances will still buy or at least rent the game, regardless of your statement

I look forward to seeing how the story weaves together. I also think a lot of people are letting things bug them before we even know that much. Either way, I plan on following the DA series to the end unless some untimely death befalls me.

Also, wouldn't it be something Flemeth is an Old God Baby herself? Though part of me thinks that doesn't seem quite right...

I prefer stories that are self-contained.

Tough. I prefer stories that leave the player still wanting more.

I am seeking assurance from Bioware that they have planned out the entire series with a cohesive narrative, and are not making it up as they go along.

We're not making it up as we go along. Except for the parts where we are, of course, but we have a Master Plan (if that's what you're asking). Whether that translates into "will all my questions be answered?" the answer-- very clearly-- is "maybe". But I wouldn't hold your breath or anything. That would be ill-advised.

What was the point in saying 'The dramatic conclusion to the Dragon age:origins story' and 'Ties up all loose ends' when you were just gunna put in a cliffhanger?Posted Image

Because Cliffhangers leave you hyping up for a resolution? Because it works wonders when trying to get out to a playerbase? Because they solved the Origins story but left a cliffhanger for Dragon Age 2?

I'll repost:

Morrigan's God Son and Antaress - yes we all get it, we feel and acknowledge your pain - I was/am annoyed as well and posted way more than usual - just give it a rest, it's gone past counter-productive - the only convincing you're going to do now is that you're slightly unhinged and unreasonable, which weakens the points you've already made many times over.

No it's a very valid question. What do you get the Champion who has everything?
