Dunno why after seeing the statements from Gaider. Its clear both Morrigan and Flemeth have a big part in future instalments of the franchise. The problem with WH was the marketing but that seems to be BW problem in general.AndrahilAdrian wrote...
I can see why they needed to use a new protagonist for continuity with the "warden dies" ending. Its just that there are still loose ends in the warden's story that wich hunt failed (epically) to tie up. I am now worried that they won't ever be resolved.
loose ends in the Dragon Age franchise (spoilers, naturally)

Witch Hunt was supposed to provide some answers and only served up more questions, especially if you didn't romance Morrigan.
In the DLC's description Bioware mentioned three possible motivations for your Warden to track Morrigan down: wanting answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love.
Speaking as someone who went into the DLC hoping for that third option, I was very much satisfied with the resolution of the long-unfinished Morrigan romance storyline. My Warden finally got the ending I had been wanting for him. So thank you for that, Bioware.
Likewise, people wanting revenge on Morrigan might also have been satisfied with their possible outcome (And if not, who cares about them? Not me!).
People who went into the DLC primarily looking for answers, on the other hand, most definitely got screwed.
Basically, at this point I'm still holding out hope for more in the way of answers for what was going on in DA2, even if Morrigan doesn't turn out to have much of a role in that game. I'm also hoping to hear more about Finn (why DID the statue say it wouldn't speak with him again?) and Ariane (what's next for the Dalish?) in DA2. But if nothing else it seems to me that learning more about Flemeth and her plans in the sequel will be a given.

That was really Gaider..? hmmmm anyways I have faith in Bioware that loose ends will be sewn up, tied down and nailed flat sooner or later

While I agree in part, when a product claims that it will answer all your questions and end the storyline, and then it doesn't...
Isn't it kind of lame?

It seems that you get the book if you play as the Orlesian warden. Just heard from one of the guys on the forum (filetemo).
Yeah, I just went through as an Orlesian- yet more questions:*sigh* I'm fine with cliffhangers provided they're picked up quickly. Otherwise you just have people falling off the cliff as they lose interest. You can only tease for so long before people get frustrated and storm off.
- You can ask Morrigan about whether Flemeth had something to do with the Blight- Morrigan's response: "Perhaps even more than you would even believe." What does that mean?
- Then she says: "Go. Tell your Wardens to be wary. Tell them to watch for what is to come." ???Again, what does Morrigan have planned or know of Flemeth's plans that would require the Warden to be on guard?
- And if you let Morrigan go as the Orlesian, Morrigan's last words are: "I am sorry. For everything." What the hell does that mean to the Orlesian who is a stranger to her? Seems ominous, but that line is what you get if you're friendly to her or in love and let her go- it makes more sense there.
- And of course you get the book and "gift" in every situation where you let her go....
So I hope BioWare has its Master Plan regarding where they're taking DA because right now it seems they're just teasing and not doing much in the way of answering questions.
I just picture Gaider and the writers reading all of our crazy speculation and going:
I think I have some answers in form of speculations:
"You can ask Morrigan about whether Flemeth had something to do with the
Blight- Morrigan's response: "Perhaps even more than you would even
believe." What does that mean?"
It means that Flemeth (whatever possesses her and is not a demon) is in fact one of Old gods or Fen'Harel or the One of the Original magisters that entered the Fade bodily.
"Then she says: "Go. Tell your Wardens to be wary. Tell them to watch for
what is to come." ???Again, what does Morrigan have planned or know of
Flemeth's plans that would require the Warden to be on guard?"
Hmph. I think that perhaps means that whatever is to come has a connection to the darkspawn taint... Thus GWs are the only force capable of combating it effectively.
Although, I thoroughly agree with your sentiment, I hope that we have more answers in DA2 than to wait for DA3 (grrrrrr....).

Well, it depends on each individual. Some like to have everything explained, some like to free their imaginations, but i think there CAN be a nice balance between those, and right now it feels like there is too much to imagine in this universe, since the story is far from over thats logic.
Its like reading the first tome of Lord Of The Rings, you won't have many answers until you read the other 2 books, and even there, that huge universe is far from completly explained to you.
Note: even when i quoted you, only the first part of my message was destined to you.

I prefer stories that are self-contained.We're not making it up as we go along. Except for the parts where we are, of course, but we have a Master Plan (if that's what you're asking). Whether that translates into "will all my questions be answered?" the answer-- very clearly-- is "maybe". But I wouldn't hold your breath or anything. That would be ill-advised.I am seeking assurance from Bioware that they have planned out the entire series with a cohesive narrative, and are not making it up as they go along.

[*]OMG! I thikn you are on to something about Flemeth being one of the orginal mages who turned into the darkspawn. Her magic saved her from becoming a beast like the others. She is the first to believe that the blight is real in Origins. I believe that she is using the blight as a cover for her master plan!!! She is up to something that sneaky hefer!!! LOL

I just think it's stupid how we are breaking from the story of DAO to go follow some other person when what appears to be the majority of people feel that DAO finished without being concluded.
And the devs have been saying Claudia Black won't be in DA2. That means either Morrigan won't be in the game, she'll appear but be silent, or she will be voiced by someone else. All of these notions suck and only the second one would be even passable.
I don't think Bioware understands how good a job they did getting people to either love or hate the Dragon Age Origins characters and I simply don't believe they'll be able to do it again when they haven't really given us closure with the last crew that we've come to care about.
I don't know about anybody else, but to me it's somewhat annoying and downright silly to be asked to forget about the peeps from Dragon Age Origins in favor of yet another character built from the very overused "bad-*ss cowboy/Master Chief/Chuck Norris" archetype.
Bioware guys, listen to me. You did a FANTASTIC job making us care about the DAO guys. Don't throw them away. There's no point to it. Finish their story, THEN start over with Eagle or Falcon or whatever his name is.
Well that's my piece, though I imagine the opinion of this one fan doesn't account for much...

I don't mind cliff-hangers. I just get easily impatient. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.
After Witch-Hunt I had the same feeling after watching the last episode of Season 3 of BSG or the last season of Doctor Who.. I WANT MORE!
But I suppose this will just have to do *channels Cailan*

I'm saying that we're not here to answer your every question. We're here to tell you a story-- and if we did for some reason just give you what you're asking for it probably wouldn't be what you wanted anyhow. So you'll have to stick around for the ride and see where we take you.
Or not. It's up to you. If someone prefers to stomp their feet and declare "DA is dying" because it didn't sing and dance quickly enough to suit their need for instant gratification-- well whatever. Do that, then.
