They don't.
Err...Where did we (I am presumptiously assuming the mantle of Pro-warden campaigners) say that we own him? Our wardens (as in wardens in OUR gameplay) are alive because we chose that way.. You (the anti-DR) want OGB out of th e picture so your choice can be respected.. Why not ours if it does not break storyline?

I also like the direction of new character new story it opens much more possibilities such as playing as a Fex or Qunari on Seheron / Par Vollen rather than being shipwrecked half naked and with amnesia.. wow that sounds familiar. Though having said that I'm not sure how that'd work since some people refuse to play non-human characters so it could be a bad business decision.. great for story though.

1) What happens to Finn we can infer that he was going to die from what the statue said
2) What is Flemeth
3) What's beyond the Eluvian
4) What was the gift left behind
5) What was in the Elven book
6) What big change is coming
7) Where is the OGB situated whilst all this is going on, who's looking after it
8) My Warden and Morrigan went through the mirror together, what happens next
These are just loose ends from Witch Hunt. Its marketing slogans were pretty much lie. I'm sure you can find much more loosends in DAO.
"The Warden heads into the forest to find out and tie up this last loose end once and for all" Uhhh no because whatever happens your'e still elft with more answers than questions. It's starting to get like an episode of 24 where there has to be a twist and cliffhanger at every single turn.

But there are way to many variances to please everyone and still maintain a high level of story. You would have to sacrifice depth for all the versions of the warden to start. Sure they could do it, but I guarantee you things would be omitted or left out or changed in order to have everyone's "choices" play-out. It isn't like the choices in ME, the choices in DA have a lot more paths, character changes, and other world changing decisions that definitely affect the short term of the warden. Hell, awakening is a perfect example of how hard it is to reflect every freaking decision, in the short term, that your character personally experiences.

We could take the Warden onto a brand new adventure, sure. It'd have to be brand new, however, as the previous adventure is already done.
Great!!! That's pretty much what I had always envisioned DA2 being anyway. My Warden and his crew facing the next big threat. Get on it!
And we'd have to come up with some way to "reset" the power level of the character again, which could involve all sorts of unpleasantness I'm sure you don't want to think about.
Meh, I don't think folks mind, and in fact easily accept the fact that power levels are reset in new installments. Its a game mechanic, gamers understand that. You don't have to kill the protagonist and rebuild him as a zombie cyborg for folks to accept the fact that they are level 1 again, in fact doing so would be rather insulting to my intelligence.
Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be.
Applies to the latter as much as the former.

Whether or not "folks mind" is irrelevant-- there'd be just as much whining then as there is now, just from another set of folks.
Applies to the latter as much as the former.
And? All things being equal, we'll take the story in the direction we intended. Bioware is not your b*tch.

Yes! Thus there has to be SOME canon, is what YOU are suggesting!
Is it then wrong to ask for the OGB and return of the Warden from the Mirror world as canon?
IMO BW storytellers will wiggle their way out of this tinsy-winsy problem of choices by choosing something that fits all the story lines..... I trust them on that!

Actually BW is my b*tch, if you want to use such vulgarity. Just as you can take the story where you want, I can spend my money where I feel it deserves to be spent. If I so choose not to spend my money on a product I feel is inferior to the standards set before it, well, it may as well never have even existed far as it concerns me.

That does not even make sense. DA will sees to be what it was because you are no longer the warden? Does Thedas blow-up because of this? Does the forgotten realms/grey hawk/planescape stop existing as a world because you change characters?
You only know what DA IS because of them, to claim that w/o the warden DA is no longer what it is, is a foolish statement. The only reason it will mean less to you is your over attachment to the character they introduced to you. You would have to believe they had no idea what they were doing, when they made DA and the world of Thedas to induce that DA won't be what it was, and that frankly, boarders on arrogance.
To say you are sad or disappointed that they won't stick with "your" warden is one thing, telling them how DA was meant to be played is a completely different thing.

Great. Do that.
Where you spend your money is the extent of your say on the matter, isn't it? And if enough people agree with you, that will be the end of that. That's the "or else" in your statement, and that should go without saying.
When you start getting demanding, however, or acting like you've already bought the game we haven't put out yet and are in charge of what goes into it-- well, sorry, but that's where I draw the line.
Puts me in mind of a blog entry that Neil Gaiman wrote, actually.
With that, I think I'll withdraw from this little conversation. I have work to do (lots of it, in fact) and this is not helping.

That was unexpected!
No. Not that they were to become a couple! It is unexpected that you interpreted a prophesy!!!!!! That is unprecedented! Its like Cybil telling Harry that he is the Horcrux!

Aaah fair enough. I have to admit there dialogue was very good. I always felt like they had an experienced rapport with one another despite only knowing each other for a week or so (I always assumed that was how long Witch Hunt was with all the travelling and such).Sheryl Chee wrote...
