with so many issues on the DLC and spending good money on it (unless you have the ps3 version) seems like Bioware would have the fix otherwise people may be sckeptical on buying another game from bioware if hey dont support their product

Having the same problem - after leaving Liara at Lair and exiting to Normandy game crashes. W7x64, 8GB RAM, NVidia 460GTX ... no matter settings or screen mode. First playthrough (FINALLY)
One would say that BioWare would solve this after eight months.

1. What version of the game are you playing: physical disc or digital download (along with which vendor)?
      Configuration Utility | Game Tab
           * Version Information: MassEffect2.EXE
EADM version of ME2, v1.02

2. System Details
      Configuration Utility | Summary Tab
           * Processor / Clock Speed / RAM - Intel core i7 2600k@3,4GHz, 8GB DDR3@1833MHz
           * Display Adapter / VRAM / Driver Version - Nvidia GF GTX460 / 1GB VRAM / driver not detected, but 270.61 WHQL
           * Sound Adapter / Driver Version - Asus Xonar DX / 5.12.1.8
      Configuration Utility | Platforum Tab
           * Operating System (and service pack, if applicable) - MS Windows 7 Ult, SP1 (6.1.7601)
           * DirectX Version - DX10 (Mar2009) or later (later, DX11)

Details about your problem.
1. What is the nature of the problem you are seeing?
      after completing DLC Lair of the Shadow Broker and returning to Normandy, game crashes every time
2. When did the problem start occurring?
      after playing Lair of Shadow Broker main mission and completing it, talking to Liara and using new research options, buying all info in the Lair
3. Where does your problem occur?
      every time I try to exit Lair through doors to Normandy and click OK / reinstallation of DLC didn't help
4. What are the steps in replicating the problem?
      I go to that door, use them and click OK.
5. Have you modified your game in any way?
      I am not awere that I did, I have NO savegame editor

Given that noone who has posted here has bothered making a proper error report as per the "Read First" thread, nor bothered readnig the forum description that clearly states that official support is performed by EA support, and these are user to user based support forums, theres not much we can do to help. If you want us to try and help you, read this thread and post the deatils that are needed.

Well, update as I got reply from support, recomending three steps to do:
1) update drivers
2) clean temp
3) stop non critical processes

As I have last drivers, I did cleaned temp and killed (all) non-vital processes and now I can continue to play.
Think it could be fine to file it here too.

First thing to try is to go to an earlier save and see if problem is resident within the one save file, or all of them
If all, then delete the DLC and reinstall. The folder you want is (providing you did a default installation);
C:\\program files\\bioware\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\DLC\\DLC_EXP_Part01
Note thath the 64 bit version is more prone to crashing than the 32 bit version due to the 64/32 bit translation layer that is required to run a 32 bitt app under a 64 bit OS. This is something that Bioware/EA cannot fix, as it is a problem within the operating system itself.

"X:\\Path\\To\\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries\\MassEffect2.exe" -nomoviestartup

This worked for me with the "crash on returning to normandy from the lair of the shadow broker" issue.
