I haven't been able to find a topic that suits the needs of this (could be looking in the wrong place) but I seem to have run into a rather large problem in LotSB  during the skycar chase I encounter an entirely black screen minus flashing lights, (that I have no clue what they mean) the "target aquired" box in the bottom right and the subtitles of Liara talking. Not sure what is causing it but it is very frustating and is keeping me from playing that part of the mission and by extention the rest of the DLC.  Everything is fine (except the normal graphic bugs) up to that point and for that matter I even considered that the helmet I was wearing was blocking the camera but after running through to the error in question with a different helm, I confirmed it was not. To expand the chase loads in I can see a 1/2 second of the background then everything goes black.

I would appreciate any help on the subject thank you.

I've not encountered you particular problem, but I'm just running into a solid wall after opening the first door in Azure after the chase. Seems to be the worst DLC so far...at least bugwise ;-) waiting for input :-)

yeah, im having problems installing the shadowbroker content. I just downloaded it but im unable to install it to get it running, it just crashes. :/ Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I have a vista 64 bit.

Sounds like this could be a problem with your video driver.  Suggest updating it to the latest-and-greatest available from the manafacturer.  The fact that you can see the background for 1/2 second before it vanishes would also seem to indicate a video driver (or hardware below minimum specification for the game) type of problem...  The car chase scene may have more independent 3-d objects in it (that your video card and driver are having trouble rendering) than most other sceanes...

Biggest problem I had with the car chase was figuring out that I could not change the altitude, so just had to find the correct path at the same level the car was already on.  Not obvious where to go sometimes...  Fun after getting the hang of it!

Got through the entire level without any issues (other than how hard some of the battles were).

I'm having the same issue. My graphics card meet the min requirements and I've updated my drivers, but still no luck. I'm running Win7 64bit. I've tried running in xp mode, but again with no luck. Any other thoughts?

In some of the other threads, people are trying to lower the graphics settings a little bit - to get past the car chase part of the level.  One setting that was particularly mentioned was one having to do with motion blurr - but I'd suggest playing with any video option you can think of, that means less work for the video card until you get it to work.  You can always reset them to higher settings, after you get past this fairly short sequence.

In another thread, nearly everyone who was having a problem seemed to be using a really low-end GeForce 7xxx video card...  If you have a low-end card (which sometimes includes the OEM cards that PC manafacturers ship), a good long term solution is to go to a surplus parts site (like geeks.com or something) and pick up a better card for $50 or so.  You can usually get "last year's models" for around that, and certinally don't need the top-of-the-line "latest-and-greatest" video cards ($300 and up) to play this game.  Just a thought.

well, you guys are atleast lucky your getting to the car chase. Im encountering a bug right before the car chase after you catch up with Liara and Vasir. After the shootout, the game loads for a few seconds, but right after it finishes loading, nothing happens. Im guessing theres supposed to be a cutscene or a script event after, but im getting nothing, just blank NPC's and Liara's body missing, Its driving me nuts.

I am getting the same thing as Askin, but I also noticed the loading logo is not spinning like it should. I also noticed when I first arrived at the location after Liara's place, there were some invisible obstructions (some of which I think were people injured in the blast).

I loaded the restart of the mission and it seams to be running fine now, even saw a cut scene that did not load last time.

I have a similar problem, after the sky-car chase, there should be a cutscene of Vasir's crash, all goes black and then I hear the sounds of the crash, then nothing :/

my game keeps crashing..in the exterior of shadow broker's ship.. it worked fine until then?? but now whenever i load a game it crashed in 10 secs

@MizzNaaa: I have the same glitch that you, I had to ask a kind guy from here in the forums to get me past that car chase, I was really happy to be able to finish the DLC, etc. And then, a few minutes later, in a dialog, he exact same glitch happened (won't tell you because of spoilers) but I guess that if we don't fix it, there can be several more glitches identical to these ones throughout the DLC ((

So, any fix BioWare?? At least let us know if you're working on it!

Re Lair of the Shadow Broker.  Downloaded it to my desktop so I could install it.  Thats as far as I get.  Every time I double click the icon it freezes my system....Loaded all previous upgrades with no problems.

Using the ME2 launcher to turn off the motion blur for the car chase worked for me. Changing all other video options had no effect. The car chase is kinda silly minigame anyway and not much fun; they made it mercifully short. Just jack everything back up to max when you're done the chase.

My own particular LotSB bug is a 100% repeatable crash that has effectively blocked me from continuing in the game.

I spoke to Liara and let her know I had info about the SB. Now whenever I open the door under her office labeled Transportation / Shipping, I can take about 5 steps into the hallway, and my game client locks. A windows error pops up, stating the ME2 client has crashed. I have to kill the process to get the game to actually close.  Running Windows7 x64.

This is a bummer.

Update: Tested it about a dozen times. If the Volus outside is yammering outside about his tech upgrades, I crashed 8 for 8 times (100%). If I wait until he's done talking, or load the game & he's not talking, I can make it down the hallway 2 out of 2 times (100%).

Could be coincidence.
Edit: Yeah, it still randomly crashes even when the Volus isn't talking.

Everything works fine until the car chase. I get a moment of the background, and everything goes black except a few flickers. Sound works fine, and I hear collisions, and judging by the sounds, the taxi cab Shepard is in is responding to my controls. Just graphics!!



I updated all my drivers...running Windows Vista 32-bit, with Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS.

Turned every single graphics option off, doesn't help. Is anyone actually getting any tech help here?

Not really to do with this but the upgrade of the nvidia drivers has made everyone looks like victims of a rogue plastic surgeon (hideous facial scars and crumpled looking textures).  Will just revert back though.

Disable motion blur through the configuration tool which you can access from the game launcher. This glitch seems to occur for nearly every 7x series graphics cards.

I seem to be having the same black screen problem as some of the ppl here, but turning off motion blur does not work for me.... anyone got an idea??

And for the note, Warlord2811 solved his problem with the removal of no-cd crack, and, by installing patch 1.02 and the DLC again.

Disabling motion blur should probably still be worth a shot for those people running with GF7x series.

e; and by this post I'm referring to problem I replied earlier.

Since i loaded the DLC, walking in the passage under Liara's office on Illium often causes the game to crash unless i walk very slowly, and even then it still crashes at times (much as quoted above, but it seems linked to the news braodcasts for me)

I generaly have not had any bugs with the actual DLC content itself.
