I tried to create a new account, just to see what would happen, it was a no go... anyone know why?

But create an account...where? Do you mean in-game? I think that's the one that "matters" and that has more to do with GameSpy, IIRC, than anything else. If you have valid keys you have valid keys. The other half of that is the username/password which I believe are just for a GameSpy account.

Why do you need a new account? Your ability to relentlessly spam the forums is without peer as it is.

I am assuming you are referring to the IDs, Genisys.  If so, we have four on this machine. I have one, my nephews have at total of two and one of their friends have one.  Depending on who's hogging the machine, a different ID will get used. IIRC all of them were created before the recent rash of "wonkiness" that has been observed by others in the community.  Whether Gamespy has altered policy of accounts-per-IP addy, I can't comment.  Haven't tried making a new one myself.

This discussion isn't so much about ME, it's about those who will be getting the game soon, or in the near future... It's NOT an IP Issue, for my IP is not static and it changes from time to time. Furthermore I just changed my IP before I tried to make the account...

Secondly, this was never an issue before, so, this is obviously new..

So, we need to get to the bottom of this and fast, therefore, if you KNOW the answer, please, speak up.

I'd hate to see new people comming to the game, to make an account, and are unable to make one..

After overcoming the irrational (?) fear that making a new in-game account would somehow destroy or muck with the original NWN account I made back in 1968 or whatever, I tried making a new one and it worked.

  Apparently all the good stupid names for test GameSpy accounts have already been staked out.  But I was able to make a total of 2-3.  On my 4th(?) it gave me an error- and maybe that's what you're seeing- but I believe that's releated to the type of passwords which are acceptable.  I think that's just alpha-numeric.

I presume you're getting an error.  Punch that error into Google.  You probably won't get a whole lot of hits back but just enough to help you figure out what you might be feeding it that it doesn't like.  I don't think there's any limit or anything like that.

Also, the GameSpy datacenter is doing some shuffling and little bits of GameSpy might break down a bit more than usual for the next week or so.  If you dig around a bit, you can find more about the mild disruptions on GameSpy's PC Gaming Forum.
