Yeah, I don't bother asking for that boon now. I just make myself chancellor and have done with it. (At least that keeps Eamon well away, the turd).

Yeah I always thought that Chancellor was a better boon for a Mage any how though Teyrn of Denerim is pretty good too.

I have a mage in mind, called Baras Amell. He will request chancellorship to Queen Anora. The only reason he picked her is because he plans to influence her mind via blood magic, which he can't do as easily with Alistair, being a templar.

Being the chancellor is cool but:

As Dwarves, I always ask for military aid.

As a Dalish I always ask for the Dalish to be given lands. Even though I know that the Dalish are given their own, but hearing how happy Maraethi was is just awsome.

I do ask to be chancellor as my nobles though. Having a hardened Alistair/Anora with a Warden Chancellor seems to be a good ending.

Knight just a quick query if I may?

But  do you have any charachters that arent ploting to take over Ferelden/Orzamar/Thedas/ or the world?
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I have only one power seeking PC really.

Haha, well I had two actually who were not interested. Alim Surana made the US and Salazar Amell is off to Tevinter, he couldn't care less about Ferelden.
And Aurora Cousland was initially not interested at all and only at the end wanted to become Teyrna of Gwaren, which isn't that much.

The reason why I lean towards ambitious characters is because I like to see Origins more like your character's story rather than fighting the Blight perse, and each of my character's different means to rise to power is something I find interesting and loads of fun. Hence why I am looking fowards to DA2's plot, if"rise to power by any means necessary" means what I think it means.

Not saying that a character has to be ambitious to have a fun story, it's just that I lean more towards the rise of different individuals to new heights. Maybe cause I love the true story of the Falcon of Quraysh too much.

Nice, thanks for answering KoP.

The way I try to play is that my PC comes out different at the end. I really love seeing how the game can change what my PC acts like when I RP alot. I did like playing Everd the evil elf mage (not just because he got all the acheivements I was missing either) its just fun to play a person who is self motivated and power seeking. Though it does rub me the wrong way, what with me being a warrior of justice and all.

I always tend to play my Cousland less as ambitious but more along the lines of the only sane man in an insane Country. Basically he's resigned himself into thinking that the only one who can set things right is himself, and so he does what's necessary to put himself in a position to do it. Sure he ends up going through the mirror with Morrigan but that's only after he's had time to set things right so to speak besides your deluding yourself if you say you wouldn't follow her into the mirror. It's freaking Morrigan. Poor Leli, and Zev.

Have you managed a Warden that didn't romance Leliana?

I would not follow her into the mirror actually.

Everd my only fully completed PC who romanced her is not going in. He may like her alot but he is to busy controlling poor little unhardened Alistair all alone. Its funny actually every time he comforted anyone he was lying, and wanted to puke for saying those nice things.

Since he is the only one I have who can go through that means none of my PC's are going in.

Yes many in fact.
CE and Elf Mage who romance Alistair.
Evil Elf mage who Romanced Morrigan.
Human Mage who romanced Zevran.

Dwarf Noble who romanced no one.
So around half of my runs romance her, the other dont. While I like the romance and Leliana alot, I have done it quite a bit and like seeing multiple paths.
Why do you ask?

No? I have had ones who'd broken up with her before the end but I don't think I've ever played as one who didn't have a relationship with her, Morrigan, and Zevran. What can I say. Man of great appetitates.

Why do you ask?

I was just wondering. I don't think I've ever seen you talk about the non-Leliana romances (that's not to say that you don't, just that I haven't noticed/seen those posts). I've seen plenty of people talk about how they have a myriad of completely different Wardens...who are all perfectly compatible with the same LI which, from the limited information available, always seems a bit contrived and more like the player loves the romance more than worrying about making believable choices for their distinct characters.

Well thats mostly because:
In the Zev thread I talk about sexuality, and gender issues or modding if it comes up.
In the Morrigan thread I talk about gaming, or newer stuff, or the DR implications.
In the Alistair thread I mostly just chill or have fun or talk about Alistair as a bro.

Only in the Leliana thread do I let out a squee.

Also I write up a page for my PC before I start playing them so I can RP it. However sometimes it does go off the rails. Like my female human mage, who was so wide eyed and stuck with fairy tales (GRIFFONS!) that I was sure she was going to go with Alistair. Yet she actually went for Zevran oddly enough.

I do however try to RP my PCs a lot, but I usually RP ones who fall into her romance very easily. Dain is not right now. He keeps stalling and not talking to her.

Mine tend to be very sexual most of the time they usually don't pursue a relationship but they aren't going to say no to it either. Especially my Dwarf Noble male. It just feels natural for him.

Most of mine are pretty monogomous. My Cousland girl didn't romance anyone - that was a first. She was a hard woman. (She ended up as Anora's chancellor). My very first mage, Andrey Amell, was so overjoyed with his freedom from the tower that he slept with everyone (but ended up with Morrigan. At least until she left).

I have recently found myself an Anora convert. At first I hated her, probally just because she betrayed me at Fort Drakon, and lied to me. Now I see she actually was in danger. She's not all bad, I think she's just missunderstood. Like many charaters in DA. Loghain being another one. I finally recurited him, and he's got some wonderful insight to Anora. Every single ff i've read with her in the post blight, she's portrayed as evil. Not so, she's an effective ruler, is she going to please everyone? no, but no one can. I think she has real depth, she's just lost her husband, her father has plunged the land into civil war, then she's expected to step aside becase someone has found Calian's bastard brother? Really, people. DOn't get me wrong, I love Alistair. I had to force myself not to romance him just to get the Leliana, Morrigan, and Zevran acheivements. But he even says he doesn't want to be king. Anora wants to be Queen, and she's dang good at it. I also belive, in the case of a female Cousland warden, Anora would want to keep her as an ally.

I just discovered something shocking. I finished browsing the groups, and there is no Anora group. There is one for bashing our fair queen, 3 for Duncan, I lost count of AListair ones, even one for Ander's kitty. But no Anora love? Why?!!! Judges, I call shinaigins!

Only married her once, and spared her Father for good measure. Other than that she is Alistair's wife. I always assume its a political marriage due to her insistence on ruling, and Loghain's commentary on her lack of desire to get to "siring an heir". (yes I understand its embarassing to talk about sex with your parents but dammit if you're in the process of ruling a nation, its kind of implied you continue the line of succession considering your husband is merely a King/Prince-consort and cannot continue ruling without her.) Then again she could be delaying having a child in order to make sure she is not bumped off shortly after the birth of the child.

Anywho, my one Cousland who married her liked her. But still she's kind of all business no matter how many times you may impress her with your martial and political prowess.

PS... I believe due to Cailan's infidelity and time so focused on ruling Ferelden, i bet she's pent up and a demon in the sack. So there is always that. Good times.

Have you read any of the FF by "mutive" or "jessica_jones"?  Both those authors respect Anora - and their FF is truly some of the best concerning her that I've come across (currently reading JJ's "Love and Leviate" and its a fascinating look at how an Alistair/Anora marriage would be pulled off.)

Could I also just say that I really like the....hmmm...almost irony in your choice of username and then having you post what you did about Anora?  :)  Its nice to see that people have open minds - I was the same way, at first.  Alistair all the way and Anora was the evil ice queen.  Wasn't until I started to read the FF listed above that I started to see the Queen in a whole new light.  Makes continuing to write a FF that I started before my conversion,  that has Alistair/Warden hating Anora really challenging....

Maybe she's hoping to dislodge whatever it is in your brain that's convincing you to keep doing really obvious things that you should know by now will make her turn against you and that are pretty clear even without metagaming? Telling someone about Anora two minutes after Anora says 'don't tell anyone about me', telling Anora whose only goal in life is to be queen that you're going to support Alistair instead, or telling her all about how you want to kill her beloved father even if a miraculous third option presents itself really shouldn't make her switching sides all that shocking.

The only times I've ever had Anora betray my warden is when I've deliberately set out to do so. It's quite clear where she's coming from and what she wants from you.
