I'm not sure what effect the Garrus romance will have on the Mass Effect universe, if any, but I did find the Garrus romance to be more than a little creepy. Turians have armored skin and claws, look like ostriches, and have mandibles. The Garrus romance is getting dangerously close to tentacle porn. What's next, a Hanar romance?

Garrus is an awesome character, but a human female Shep sleeping with him is a little disgusting.

Studies have shown that number one sexual characteristic for males is their voice (for females, it is their hair, if you're curious).

Garrus' voice is awesome.

A question for female gamers then:

If Turians were real, would you actually consider dating with one, with all the *ahem* activities that couples usually engage in?

Political ****-storm from this? Of all of the things Shepard that can do with the capacity for causing a political ****-storm, this would be the least of a FemShep's worries.

And I will say it again due to my sophisticated tastes. I demand female turians be sexy. And yes that means boobs.

And the games > books when it comes to sources.

One word out of that reporter about Garrus would cause my Renegade femShep to snap so fast.... They'd' get the stain out, eventually. When she's out on the town with Officer Vakarian, she doesn't want to listen to nosy paparazzi or stupid pro-Human nonsense. She wants to listen to stories about setting things on fire or shooting your way through (classy) antique shops.

As far as Humanity vs Turians is concerned, keep in mind that Humans are the barbarians here. Humans are the one that just barely crawled off their planet a few hundred years ago. Turians are the civilized species, the ones that are basically cradle robbing when they pick up Humans. Humans are the animals here, not the Turians. It's just their luck that Humans have a familiar and convenient shape for interspecies intercourse.

Damn I love Mass Effect for making me think things like these!

I don't see wrong in that romance. Turians are after all quite human like through physiology (bipeds, all bodyparts approx in the same directions) but even more through mentality. They are almost identical when it comes to behaviour and, more importantly, sentimentality. To be honest, people get their kicks from quite a lot wierder stuff. Years of internet and philosophical wondering have driven me to the conclusion that I will accept all kinds of sexual behaviours that happen between participants that have a full consent and understanding of the nature of the situation, which rules out animals, retards, children, and/or any other kind of idiots from participating to root out the possibility of sexual abuses.

I'm goiing to second that hell yes. I wouldn't think twice. As to the person who said personality doesn't mean crap - that goes both ways. Physical appearance isn't going to save a relationship if you can't stand the person's personality. I find turians visually very appealing. If they existed and I met one that got along with me like no one ever had or ever could, why not? You don't just find that every day. You take it where you can get it.

EDIT - Ah, typos how I love thee...

I have Retribution could you tell me what chapter or page it is on or possibly a quote[/quote]

Page 45:

"...their unique biology allowed them to take genetic traits from alien partners and incorperate them into the Dna of their
offspring.
"
Its the only way that honestly make sense  in a biological way.Because otherwise no asari would like to be a "father"
if their childs have nothing in common with them.(before they met other alien species they mate with eachother)

Lots of girls are dating with... hmmm, weird-looking guys in the real life... :)

But flip this question for a moment: if asaris would be real - do you want to date with one of them?

They look like Human Women (Alot of them are way more attractive too.) but with blue skin and a bizzare folding scalp that slightly resemble tentacles.

So yes I'd date one. I'd probally prefer too with all the mind sex aswell as physical not to mention everyone of them is female and bisexual. <3

Sure, but Asari look just like hot human women except with blue skin and an alien scalp. If the Asari were created as a race with both males and females I could totally understand a female finding an Asari attractive, as they are extremely similar to humans physically. Other than being bipedal Turians don't look like humans at all. In fact they look more like birds of prey or bird-like dinosaurs.

See?  Voice.  Primary determinant of male sexual attractiveness.

There's a reason BioWare gave Thane the voice they did.  I doubt they planned it with Garrus, since he wasn't a romantic option in the first game, but it's no surprise that tons of people went nuts over him even when he wasn't available.

Besides which, I think some people are being entirely too disparaging towards turian appearance.  They look remarkably feline, with a bit of reptile (i.e., snake) thrown in.  Cats and to a lesser extent snakes are both animals that are commonly associated with seduction and sensuality in the human psyche.  It's subconscious, but it's there.

Don't forget to show the SB video of her & the Asari first.

I imagine if the game does anything at all to reference our alien LIs then it'll be through face of steal reporter girl saying, " You're banging a (insert your ALI's species here), surely it wasn't that difficult to get a human to fulfill your needs commander."

That'll be all.

I mean I'd like to have some issues and not just people looking at us sideways maybe even outright challenging or trying to kill me and all because we are together.

Sure as one poster pointed out the whole human/asari pairing is accepted enough but there has to be people who hate the idea that an asari is essentially raping their great great grand child age wise.

There should be a **** storm over mshep/tali romance she's quaarian and 70% or more of the population hate quarians because they now are and created the geth 300 years ago talk about grudges....but the other 30% distrust them so while they wont' cause a riot they may at least keep a very close eye whenever you two are together.

Garrus though I'd say would be bad to humans especially Terra firma those guys would go nuts. We know Garrus's dad hates humans and spectors so that's a challenge already with him. Beyond that we're not running into too many anti human turians unless you killed the council then mostly everybody hates you.

The effect it'll have is that Shepard will be hospitalized after getting her pelvis broken by Garrus' literal "boner".

How do you always beat me to the punch?

That said, yes I'd hit that. Also: my first major crush on a fictional character was a dude with stone skin who was part golem and part demon. I have a history of this.

Great... Someone else that wants to make Garrus the LI more relevant than the other Killable ME2 LIs than he already is.

The same would apply to Thane and Tali. Though Miranda, Jack, Jacob, Kaidan, and/or Ashley would get left out I say that's reasonable. See, it isn't abnormal to mate with those of the same species and Bioware could always do something extra for the fans of those characters.

Also, I don't really know which catagory to put Liara. On the one hand, she's an alien so pro-human people would still cry foul. However, she's an asari, a much more common mating companion for humans so the rest of humanity and the galaxy as a whole wouldn't cry foul.

She's kinda an inbetween. Then again, she's also the SB, so she has her perks too.

Oh eyebrows will be raised at shep no matter the Alien s/he romances. The problem with Garrus though is that he is of the same species that caused the First Contact War. This I am sure will give some ammunition to Terra Firma if they are at the trial against you.
