(I'd rather steal The Witcher's subplot with Alvin. Take in an orphan with special powers that throws a major twist into the story)

I understand the possibilities of raising a family in a tabletop, pen and paper roleplaying game like D&D or Pathfinder amongst mature players. Why, though, would you want your Lady Hawke barfing all over with morning sickness, peeing on herself when she gets hit too hard because of the increased downward pressure on her bladder, and leaking milk on her leathers/robe/plate in a video game?
Because we have already suggested it would be handled in the timeshifts.

i think most of them knows that but are intent on finding reasons on why this couldn't work, even if those reasons are, for a lack of a better word, ridiculous.

Just as some people are hellbent on wanting children, some people are hellbent on the other side... And thus The Great War of Flames MMXIXV started...

you'll realize the reasons that people who would like the implementation of hawke having children is that it can give more depth to the character of hawke and in doing so makes the player have an easier time bonding with him/her, or that it makes for good opportunities with party banter or even influencing the kid based on your personality and how you interact with the child.
and then there are the people saying that this is a bad idea, while some give valid reasons, others (and a whole lot of them) state that they don't want that feature because they don't want to have the responsibility of being a parent in the game, or saying that it's stupid because female hawke will have to show her pregnancy in-game. i really can't be bothered to make a list for all those reasons but you see what i'm getting at.

Also, if your male, the female character you have sexy time with will be pregnant.

The more I think about this idea, the worst it sounds. The child would need to be fully voiced when he/she starts talking. Bioware could keep it simple and have one voice for a set personality. So we would probably have no direct influence over this child. Again not worth the effort if it is too simple or complex for that matter.

Maybe they will make it that the baby is born near the end of the game. The baby can be at least four years old before it requires a voice actor. Just make Baby noises.
And if you can do sexy time at any time of the game, you dont get pregnant, and maybe there will be a "special" sexy time where if you do it, you fall pregnant. (or if your male, the Female party member falls pregnant).

I would love this idea, and you would get a special armour depending on your class for the duration of your pregnancy.
Light Armor
Drakeskin (Tier 7)
Armor: 1.00
Fatigue: 100.00%
Cannot be unequipped
Cannot be destroyed
-10 dexterity

I, for one, wouldn't want to hunt for such an armor even if it were another achievement.Russalka wrote...
It would be a part of the plot, not yet another achievement or armour hunt!

because pregnancy, if implemented, will only be implemented in a timeskip:wizard:

And when it becomes a part of the plot is where I object. Because then it isn't a choice anymore...

why would adding more depth to the character of hawke by allowing him/her to become a parent equal dating sim?
we still want our battle action, dialog choices, political intrigue and fantastical countries and cultures.

But you can still go through the plot as differently as you want with the choices given. x_x
If it is a choice it can't be part of the plot... Just like fetching 18 pieces of corpse gall isn't part of the plot.

just like choosing between elves/werewolves isn't part of the plot?
just like choosing between harrowmont/bhelen isn't part of the plot?
just like choosing between templars/mages isn't part of the plot?
just like choosing between dark ritual/ultimate sacrifice isn't part of the plot?

By that logic the child option would be "would you like to knock up/being knocked up by your LI" or "have Hawke knock up Bethany"
1 or 2 sidequests for the child isn't part of the plot.

lol I sure hope not
honestly if pregnancy became a significant part of the game I probably wouldn't buy it
even if:
-having a child being optional
-pregnancy of hawke/LI during timeskip
-not part of the main plot, but still important
