Frankly, I've always said that I would pay more for additional quality. And I would wait longer for additional quality. But companies have to take in account pesky things like profit and cash flow. They can't pour endless hours into a product before releasing it.

So I think the question really is do I want more content or more quality. Do I want a really high quality 20 hours of gameplay or simply good quality 40 hours of gameplay.

Personally, I want the high quality gameplay. Give me 20 hours that will knock my socks off and I'll pay for similar quality DLC until you get tired of taking my money.

Bioware's ME2 team definition of "right" is questionable.

No, it'll be the last of Shepard's story and (probably) the Reapers. There will be spin-offs

Really?...awsome!!!

But how do you top Shepard??

It really doesn't matter. Was Shepard a stand-up guy/gal or a badass SOB? Was he/she a grunt marine or a sneaky infiltrator? Shepard was pretty blank slate.

I suspect they next character will also be blank slate. Oh sure, different back stories, different actors, but its going to be simply Shepard II. The main difference, I think, will be in any changes to mechanics. Will it be a reputation system instead of darkside/lightside? That sort of thing.

Taking a long time to produce doens't mean it would improve the game, especially when they don't have to start from zero like ME3, that will be based on ME2 engine. Mafia 2 is a good example of a game that took a really long time (eight years between Mafia 1 and 2, although not a sequel) to be a short and average game. Mass Effect 3 CAN be done right AND fast.

just take time to play your shepard for a while. relax, sit back, wait for other DLC before ME 3. there will be several more DLC if Bioware keeps the pace past about 7 month.

You can't carry two apples with one hand.

You CAN do the two. Duke Nukem took a bazillion years and it's only the same damn thing with a graphic makeover.

Time does not necessarly equals quality every time.

I just love the ME universe and would gladly play some awesome high-quality DLC every few months leading up to ME3 and with those the time will fly by!!

I'd gladly wait five years and pay $100 for a 40 hour version of Lair of the Shadow Broker, though I'd need a constant supply of fresh DLC to keep me happy. :P

I didn't mean to sound hostile :innocent:, honest.

Hopefully we'll get some announcement soon, after LotSB everybody wants more ME for yesterday.

I wonder what would happen if they said the earliest possible release date is 2055.

Right and fast.

Bioware has something "far-reaching" happening in 2011, and it just can't be that PS3 port. If it is, well, tough for me. :/

But really, it could be done by mid-2011 at the earliest, I think. It'd be kinda nice to have a Mass Effect game come out in summer for a change instead of winter. I want it to last even longer than the past two, I want something that takes me 60+ hours to beat. I was impressed with ME1, I was very impressed with ME2, but I want to be even more impressed with ME3.

This. Anyone who says fast is the cancer killing the gaming industry.

Duke Nukem wasn't in development for the entire 12 years. You know that, right?

Definitely done right. Feed us DLC for ME2 to tide us over if you must BioWare, but make sure that ME3 is done right and polished. ME2 felt like a rush-job... I don't want ME3 to feel the same.
