Let's stick with expanding the new and old ones, plus add females, and maybe one new race. Just one.
Absolutely!

It would be cool if ME3 included a 'first contact' mission, where you make contact with a new alien species that has just discovered the mass relays. That would provide an explanation for why the species hadn't been seen before...
another cool idea,totally awesome!!

A mystic race, they are near to the extinction. Hominoid, but blind.
Their homeworld does not have a Sun. Maybe they are bounty hunter, or pirate... maybe....
But I like this idea
With no sun, how is their planet habitable at all?
because its a craft world......
oh wait. wrong universe.

I reckon the Yautja(from the Predator films), should make an appearance. That would be 100% pure epicness. Shepard one on one with one of them?! OH YES!
I would be surprise if Bioware created a organic-synthetic bipedal version of the Reapers similiar to the Yautjas or the Xenomorphs,I would even be thrilled if they use the Xeno's Queen, she's a huge b**ch!!

Since we have seen plenty of reptilians, robots, insects and avians, I was thinking maybe have something that's mammalian, like human, but not simian, something on the lines of a cat, dog or bear-like.
You mention a "dog" species, that is what I really want,a new canine species in Mass Effect 3,already included in the first page.

Maybe the "ghost ship" inhabitants in android bodies? They'd probably be able to download their minds in mobile platforms in one way or the other, just like the geth.
Who knows?

Goddammit... I knew somebody stupid enough would come here and make this comparison sooner or later. An alien is not a furry, A human is not a furry ape, A krogan is not a furry reptile. A kzin from Larry Niven's known space is NOT a furry tiger! sigh...
What's with you people?

Flashforward some time and you get the Narcians who are still worshiped as gods and underwent extensive genetic and cybernetic treatment making them powerful biotics and engineers. Their planet underwent extensive terraforming and the original species, landscape, and even the weather were changed by their whim becoming a living paradise full of scenic buildings, artificial rainbows and pleasant meadows. However due to their extensive tampering of their natural environment the Narcian planet is extremely fragile and largely dependant on outside resources.
The tribesfolk now known as Plebians are the eternal slaves of the Narcians and their planet became an overpopulated, entoxicated world were they hopelessly work in factories in order to supply and maintain the Narcian homeworld. The Plebian government is under constant dictatorships and children are readily kidnapped in order to become soldiers of the Narcian army. As soldiers they are constantly trained in endurance for their purpose in battle is to serve as cannon fodder and often charge in unarmed while the Narcian officers unleash biotic hell upon their enemies.
Narcians regard other aliens with contempt, and find all aliens extremely disrespectful to their superior and beautiful form. Plebians on the other hand have grown accustomed to never look other people in their eyes and regard biotics of all sorts with utmost respect and fear

maby they can use the warhammer 40k necron concept for the reapers ground forces

Basicly it would be like - somewhat sapient husks with rifles. Grafical concept is great (i like Necron design very much), still I dont know if it can be adecuatly justified plotwise.
Glad to see it is aparent that ME3 would need new kind of main enemy, not only in space but more importantly on the ground. I cant see shootong Blue Suns again for 90% of the game (even indoctrinated). I just hope they skip another Reaper helpers race this time , and give as a real enemy.

Also, I agree with jonv1234: we need more critters.
Oh hey, look, the person right above me JUST POSTED THAT. But I'm pretty sure male asari are impossible.
On a final note, could we have at least ONE batarian that wasn't a bad guy?

More aliens would be nice. It has been implied that there are dozens more races in the ME universe. Not too much but enough to show the amount there are potentially.
One thing I do want to see more of though is the Drell, maybe even a female Drell. Of course, female Turians should be a must as well.
...and maybe these new Drell could buy their clothes from a different store than Thane Krios, Kolyat Krios, and Feron...
