I just had to reinstall windows on my system.  I have windows XP, and my hardware is sufficient. 

The auto-updater finds the patch and downloads it successfully, but when it starts to update the files, it states that it finds the wrong version of the files and then aborts itsself.

Suggestions?

Description: When running the updater, it will download the update successfully, but when it starts to patch the files, a message states that an incorrect version of a file is found and the update was aborted.

What I would recommend at this point would be to remove and re-install NWN 2, following the instructions provided in posts in the following posts:

Please see the On Removing NWN 2 for removing NWN 2.
Please see the Installing NWN 2 topic for installing NWN 2 and subsequent expansion packs.
NOTE: Your system meets the minimum requirements, from what you have posted, and you may have to resort to maunual updating, such as is described in Post 12 of the Lagacy Forums at http://nwn2forums.bi...60311&forum=116

Bedore embarking on that drastic measure, however, make sure you have installed DirectX 9.0c (Redistributable version) from Microsoft's downloads site.

I uninstalled everything according to the NWN2 removal instructions. I re-installed everything according to installation instructions:



I installed OC, then played for approx 5 min.

I installed MOTB, then played approx 5 min.

I installed SOZ.

I then started the automatic updater.



The automatic updater gave the following messages:

Retrieving autopatcher version information

Connecting...nwn2patch.obsidianent.com

Downloading nwn2_pc_autopatch.txt

Retrieving game patch information

Connecting...nwn2patch.obsidianent.com

Perhaps you can find that file on NWVault somewhere and then do an off-line update?

i'm getting the same problem and have tried everything already suggested and have searched everywhere for an answer google multiple forums and nothing but the same advice which i've done
