In The Lost and Damned expansion for GTA IV there was full frontal male nudity and there was such an outroar. Forget the fact that I can ventilate gangsters with shotguns, seeing a penis, something I as a male see everyday is just blasemphey :P.

Actually, I am absolutely not okay with letting my nephew play my GTA games. God of War is also off limits.

Of course, he wants to play those more than anything else. The reason he loves DAO so much is because I wouldn't let him play it for the longest time, and when I did, it was like manna from the gods.

Now Scribblenauts is the new thing.

On a sidenote, kind of amazing how quickly those little guys can pick up on these games. At that age, I could barely manage Kid Icarus.

He wouldn't be able to play if not for the "Did you mean this?" function. He can't read or write so much as learn which group of letters will get the "Did you mean...?" for what he wants. :D

I'm not having a go Saibh. your nephew must be very intelligent for his age when I and many other adults struggled with parts of DAO. what'd he think when he saw and fought the Broodmother?.

I felt the urge to vomit and I have seen some truely awful things in real life. Its why I give BW two wings up for that character design.

I wasn't there for that part, actually. ^_^ He may have asked my sister for help, I'll ask in the morning. Honestly, Broodmothers "boobs" don't look like anything to me, so I wouldn't have had a problem with it. It didn't look that scary or horrifying to me. Just a...fat...thing.

The Mother...? Ehh...not so sure.

I know he thinks ogres are the coolest things outside of Batman.

On a side note, he despises Joker from ME, since he thinks he should be the Joker.

All the kids are playing it nowadays, the parents get it without giving two ****s about the "M" rating and then yell out when the game has a curse word or has violence. You should do the same, just wait for DA2 and say there's "FULL NUDITY ALIEN-ELF SEX" on Fox News.

And those are the stupid parents that don't know what's inside the game before letting them play it. I do, and I won't let him touch it. I support awareness and caution, not censorship. My older sister sets the line on what is and isn't okay, and what is left to my jurisdiction I have my own personal rules for. If it seemed like he was getting violent because of DAO, it would be time to retire that game.

I should point out he also loves Lego Batman and Mario Party, so it's not just a lust for violent video games.

One of my life's regrets is working at a Wal-Mart while I was working on my B.A. It was disgusting that (a) the ESRB rating is not legally enforcable, thus Wal-Mart would have me sell Manhunt to a kid in a strollerthat pointed at it, if he had the cash, and (B) when I made a point of reading the ratings to parents, they simply shrugged and said "can't be any worse than what he's already playing." I have heard that phrase dozens of times. And given how bratty, demanding and sometimes violent these kids are in plain public, it is clearly symptomatic of lazy, uninvolved "parenting."

It's funny my mom got me "M"games a lot and she was ok with it as long as I did not go crazy :wizard:.

Really? My Wal*Mart's workers are anal-retentive every time I try to buy something, and I am of age.

Answer in PM since I am...leery of any sort of personal information given out online. Also one of those things I instilled in myself without any parental guidance, since the interwebs were my playground since the first time I had internet connection.

It was a while ago that I worked there. Maybe they've clenched their cheeks since then. Good for them. It could also be that, I assume you're of the female persuasion, and the kids I worked with would find any excuse to extend interaction.Image IPB

Brood mothers and "The Mother" are very creepy to look at and a struggle to fight in my opinion.

I think I have been away from these forums long enough to be able to say this: I had hopes that the writing team would delve deeper into Origins before departing it forever, that included something more involved than a short dlc about Morrigan heh. But anyways, I AM hoping to see more of the game world, Thedas..The Free Marches etc. Any loose dangling threads that I was concerned about before, I think..."may" be referenced in DA 2.

I have to say this last dlc, for motion and graphics ..was an improvement over the old style, and I think that dlc perhaps was done to showcase their new graphics more than anything else. There are alot of hints and foreshadowing that lead me to believe that the writing team have done their best to address the "loose threads" complaint. I paid attention while I was playing The Witch Hunt, and I think it will work out fine.

I am not one that was overly concerned about not being able to play my Warden again, I expected that ..to be honest. I was more concerned about what I saw as plot holes and breaks in continuity.

I'm not pleased about the voiced thing but I guess I'll adapt. And the dialogue wheel reminds me of my experience with ME 1 where ..the unexpected happened when you chose something on that dialogue wheel, I believe that has been rectified from what I've read (well at least for DA anyway hehe).

It is time to move on, and explore/adventure, discover. I guess I am ready for that...with one request:

Please..do not ever bring Sten back sporting horns and stripes...please. :D That would be a definite immersion kill. heh

By giving me as hard a time as possible? That only works when cops are like "Okay, this time it'll just be warning" and that's only if they're young, cute, and in uniform.

Some of them must recognize me, so I don't know why I have to flash ID every single time. No, I think it's because they're bored.

Long hair + beard = hilarity, though. So many times I've been mistaken for a woman... only to turn around and glare at the offender with a 3-4 inch long beard. Good times.

Also, long hair + beard = bad for job hunting.

It reminds me of the people who work at the local Gamestop. They actually know me outside of work, and still pester me for ID. And then take forever +1 to get it. 'Cause they're unicorns.

Also learned from working at Wal-Mart: some of the female "regulars" could grow a better smattering of facial hair than I could at the time... so maybe go there more.
