I'm not having a go Saibh. your nephew must be very intelligent for his age when I and many other adults struggled with parts of DAO. what'd he think when he saw and fought the Broodmother?.

I wasn't there for that part, actually. ^_^ He may have asked my sister for help, I'll ask in the morning. Honestly, Broodmothers "boobs" don't look like anything to me, so I wouldn't have had a problem with it. It didn't look that scary or horrifying to me. Just a...fat...thing.

The Mother...? Ehh...not so sure.

I know he thinks ogres are the coolest things outside of Batman.

On a side note, he despises Joker from ME, since he thinks he should be the Joker.

The Broodmother reminds me of a giant slug with tentacles lol.   The Mother..was a little more horrible to look at I have to say, but after doing that expansion 11 times or so,  it didn't bother me after awhile. :)

It was only awkward to look at when my fiance was watching me play... I felt as though I needed to look away and fight at the same time.

To me, it seemed like my Wardens adventure was just begining at the end of Origins/Awakening. she declined the offer to become Bann of the Alienage and gave the role to Shianni isntead, and then she left and went to other lands by herself (didn't romance anyone).

But eh, what can you do. I don't mind playing a new character.

Maybe I'm just disturbed but ignoring the entire body, I found the mother sort of hot until her mouth all went Predator on us.

What's not to love about the predator's mouth?

Despite, feeling horrendously unclean whilst saying such things I'd have to agree really. Bit on the crazy side though, not that that's much different from your average female..

I'm not upset by playing as a new Hero, I like the idea of playing as Lady Hawke, she's really cool. I would like to see my Warden again at some point. My Warden that ended up with Leliana, and my Warden that ended up with Morrigan, I'd definitely like to see them again at some point and learn what they did together. Maybe even play as the Warden again in a DLC, I don't think I'd want to play as the Warden in DA3, nor would I want to play as Hawke in DA3, I like creating fresh, new characters. But a DLC down the line at some point, for the Warden and Leliana or Morrigan, that seems like a cool idea to me.

I'm not really upset about it, but little bit me wasn't happy. How ever, I think it was more about that I was elf, than have to make new character.

I'm not really upset. I just like to think my Warden is on a well deserved all expense paid vacation touring Thedas with Leliana and Dog. It's Hawke's time to shine!

The Warden wasn't really a character, he was just an avatar for me into the game world, so I felt no emotional attachment to him whatsoever

New character? No problem.

My issue is that Hawke is still too bland and uninteresting for me. Fancy teaser trailers are one thing, but Hawke's rise to power seems like a blotch on the margin of a history book compared to the Blight and the mystery of who or what Flemeth is, what are her intentions, and how and why Morrigan tries to interfere with those plans.

Right now, playing Hawke is like being sidetracked while you are trying to chase something more important. Unless, of course, we will all learn that we are not being sidetracked at all. ;)

I love my wardens and would be very upset if they didn't make an appearance in the future....

..but the list of avatars and NPC's I've fallen in love with and lost over the years with has grown enormously huge and I've said that about almost every one of them, that I just can't believe myself any more...

the fact is, I'm always impressed with each new avatar and each new NPC that I soon let the old ones live on only in my memory. (And occasional backups of savegames and re-installs, that ONLINE DRM IS SEEKING TO TAKE AWAY!!!!!)

You got over Revan? Traitor :P

Kotor 1 & 2 just seems to imply that if Kotor 3 was made, we'd see a clash between Revan and The Exile. I hope for news about kotor 3 every year to get some conclussion what happend to Revan not that vague "He might have traveled to a place far away from the republic and maybe did something, or not"

I'm not upset about playing Hawke in DA2. Not at all actually, but my Warden wouldn't be "done" untill I know what happens beyond the mirror and with the god child, and I seriously hope they won't pull the same **** as revan "it's rumored he went to a place where no one has been in ages with a child, no one knows that he did and no one will ever know"

Give the character closure, proceed with Hawke

In all honesty I thought that Kotor (the series) has extremely crappy characterization to the point of being stupid... But that's just my opinion. After buying KOTOR2 (love of SW franchise) I had to give it up halfway through, as the gameplay also sucked bigtime... DA had a comparitively better gameplay, way better story and nice characterization.

Now, I am not attached to any one of the characters as much as I want to finish the story.... The story of Morrigan was supposed to give us some new info in Witch-hunt (according to the adverts) but instead it simply created new problems/questions.... This seems to me as simply poor, hasty and shoddy business strategy to wriggle some easy money from Morrigan fans...

Exactly, thats why I'm more interested in Flemeth's role in DA2 than Hawke's rise to power. Also, I really hope the achievements of our warden's don't get pushed to the wayside because ending a blight and saving Ferelden is a pretty damn big accomplishment and I'd hate to see it get diminished because Hawke is doing his whole champion of Kirkwall spiel.

I got over it after a short time, but NOW, I am insanely disgruntled and upset at the fact I havve to ditch my old warden! Anybody else feel the same?

I want to learn about Morrigan's intent, and not just listen to babbling, and know whats behind the mirror!
I want to know what she plans to do with my son, and I DEFINITLY want to know what flemeth is, and what her intent is!

Most of all, though, I want to discover these things while roleplaying the character that starred in DA:O, rather than see a cameo of these specific subjects as a fresh character, forcing me to look at it from an ignorant and DIFFERENT prespective.

Do you guys think they'll bring back the warden in DA:3? They are not going ahead in time really, so it wouldn't be far fetched.

Do you think some of these questions will be answered in DA:2? I sure as hell hope so.. Flemmeth seems to be one helpful woman for the beast Morrrigan makes her out to be!

A whole game of nothing, but talking to morrigan. i will not be a part of that. lol

I think the characterization in KOTOR was a lot up and down. Some characters were straight out brilliant while some were shallow and uninteresting. Kreia was kinda unique in RPG's due to her not being either evil or good and her dialogue were great and the voice actor did an awesome job.

I agree fully about your last part that in the end, it was just a poorly made business strategy that added more questions than it removed. (It successfully removed on question, gender of the god-child... Everyone I know wanted to know the gender more than anything else )

I'm not so much disgruntled that I cannot play the warden in DA2 - that is, if I'll play DA2, which I at this point very much doubt. - as I am disgruntled with the sloppiness and the utter disregarding their customers Bioware/EA is demonstrating in regard to DA:O.

Lets face it, because of the kids who wants to level up at least once per hour, combined with their need for ridiculously overpowered items, the warden is now so insanely powerful that there's little opposition that can even slow him/her down.

But Bioware/EA is showing such contempt for their fans, that I really can't for my life understand why anyone is excited about Hawke/DA2.

1. DA:O, DA:A, and the DLC has so many loose ends, that you could write a book about them.

2. DA:A was a blatant ripoff, wich was so poorly made that some of the most elemental stuff was not adressed, both storywise, and bugwise. (No, I don't think I'll let the Darkspawn go away, to create their own future, considering how they reproduce. Something as fundamental as this isn't even adressed or mentioned, at any point.)

3. One year after release of DA:O, Bioware has still not produced a decent patch for the game. Now you want me to believe that by skipping it, and jumping to DA2 it will be better? You'll excuse me if I remain doubtful.

4. One by one our choises are removed, to a degree where DA2 sounds like Heroquest, or the original D&D. You can't customize your classes anymore, rogues have to be dex-based, warriors strenght-based. No dual-wielding for warriors, a rogue cannot equip a greatsword, etc. etc. The fact that some, I for one, like to play Jack's of all Trades, who can do a bit of everything, but excels at nothing, is utterly disregarded.

5. The sequel to the "Spirituel Succesor to Baldur's Gate" is going to be a slick, fastpaced, short action-adventure, utterly focused on cool combat moves, and spectacular effects? That wasn't how I experienced BG/BG2, but there you are.

All I hear and see about this game as the days progress, is indicating that Bioware and EA is aiming for the lowest common nominator. Keep it simple, reduce choises, make it linear. Possible it will be a succes, and they will sell more copies than ever. But they are loosing old fans in the proces. I hope for them that the trade is worth it.
