Anybody dissapointed about being a new hero, because of witch hunt?

The thing is, the Warden's story for me was done when the credits rolled after I killed the Archdemon. That was my Warden's goal and she met it. All of the other stuff (expansions and DLC) was just fluff to me that was used to flesh out the world a bit more. I just assume that she competently leads the Wardens for fifteen to twenty more years or so before finally succumbing to the taint; then she'll go down into the Deep Roads and be devoured by hoards of vicious darkspawn while fighting them one last time....Next please!
Note: I love my Warden, but her story was concluded nicely for me. I don't need to see her disappear or die to feel fulfilled (although I understand how some feel differently). How morbid would it be if they released a final final DLC called The Calling where you go into the Deep Roads on a timer or something until you are inevitably overwhelmed and die and that's the end. Would that not be unsatisfying?

I'm also going to love having Hawke simply because the game can be written to be much more personal instead of being forced to be vague due to the multiple origins. Entire content can be based off Hawke instead of "Hey, you're that Cousland boy? Well, this is your dialogue reference. Hello!"
I have mixed feelings. I personally really enjoy seeing a charater develop over the course of multiple stories, like the Bhaalspawn or Shepard. But at the same time, for the reasons you mentioned, having a charater like Hawke provides new opertunities.

That has already been addressed. No, he is not the son of the Warden.

No your warden does not have to die. Be warned if you do the DR ending you will be left hanging hopelessly onto Origins, Hoping for some real closure and answers.

However, if for ME3 they said they were going to bin Shepard and start with someone else, then I wouldn't be happy at all, because we're had two games with this character. It's Shepard's story as much as anything else.

Uh, sorry but no - Hawke and his family are refugees from Lothering who escape around the beginning of the Fifth Blight, so that's impossible. Don't worry, others have come up with that idea before. *comforting pat*

I was skeptic of it at first but didn't freak out about it, but I've come to accept and welcome the idea.
Although I wish Wardens other than Morrigan romancers got closure of some sort.
This so much.
I have come to terms with the fact that the Wardens adventure is over, and look forward to playing Hawke, (especially getting a sister like Bethany

No thats not possible because Hawke was into his adulthood when Loithering was hit with the blight. He also has a family.

Well I'm at the stage now that if in DA3 they decided to change characters yet again, I wouldn't care. I would just see it as we're playing through different chronicles in the history of Thedas. If anything, it would balance it a little more than having the first one about the Warden, then the next 2 about Hawke etc. So maybe yet another new character is a good thing.
However, if for ME3 they said they were going to bin Shepard and start with someone else, then I wouldn't be happy at all, because we're had two games with this character. It's Shepard's story as much as anything else.
I understand, changing characters. But is a little closure and answers to much to ask? How about and ending to the first story they started, and I would be more than happy to move on.

I don't think that's it. Back when I played DA:O I thought that it was a well executed version of a very old story. I liked the political aspects of it, but even so, battling against an unrelenting evil has been done to death.Dynamomark wrote...
That's because 1) Bioware/EA are pulling the right strings in their marketing; 2) by now you've probably heard learned about warden to death.Gill Kaiser wrote...
To me, Hawke seems to be shaping up into a much more interesting protagonist than the Warden. Irrespective of the whole issue of the main character being voiced, and having a set race, I just think that Hawke's story sounds more interesting than the Warden's. I like the idea of rising to power over a decade, and playing someone so important to the future history of Thedas.
Hawke's story reminds me of Conan. Rising to power through the strength of my blade/magic is an epic premise for a storyline, especially when it's in a setting in which politics plays such an important part.

What kind of ending? The Warden comes out, says "THIS IS THE ENDING, GOD DAMN LEAVE ME ALONE NOW" and skips into the distance with all companions into the sunset?
Oh wait, that's not an ending. YOU NEVER FIND OUT WHERE THEY WENT.
How about... umm... He opens up a haircutting business? OH YOU NEVER FOUND OUT WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED AFTER THAT, DAMN.

I agree. Both of my Wardens' storylines were satisfactorally concluded at the end of DA:O. That's why I didn't feel the need to buy any of the DLC, as it would only have ruined what was, to me, a complete narrative.andar91 wrote...

I do not have a problem with Hawke, I hsave a problem with the Warden's unconcluded story.
If it was hard confirmed there would be a large DA:1 expantion in the distant future or a warden DA:3 I'd go nuts over Hawke, but thats not the situation.. I want a conclusion to my epic tale.
Think about it.. Howmany games go back to the potangonist in one game after moving on in a different game? NONE!
Did Final fantasy x-2 come out after XII? No it did not!
I do believe that in one of the conversations my Warden had with Alistair, he states that most Wardens live (at the most) 30 years after drinking the tainted darkspawn blood.
In a way, we already know what happens to the Warden from DA:O, short of the Bioware team creating a "cure" or different death for the Warden beyond entering a thoroughly dangerous area in order to fight until death.
One also wonders why so many people complain about "incomplete" storylines. Can you truly not come up with your own version of what happened to your own Warden?

Haha, I would love for the Mass Effect 3 team to come out and say "This is commander Jerry, the hero of the universe. Sorry but commander Shepard's story was done."
Boyyyy Bioware would burn!
But that would never happen because ME was always planned as a trilogy, whereas DA:O was not.
