Indeed, and where did you learn of these American Civil War and Revolutionary War figures?  History class?  How many conversations over Robert E. Lee have you had with casual acquaintances?  Or at work?

Edit:  My point wasn't that such figures are irrelevant or immaterial, it was that contemporary society is concerned with contemporary things.  You're infinitely more likely today to have a conversation about David Petreaus or George W. Bush than you are George Meade or Jefferson Davis.

Good for them!  I like it when a story leaves some things ambiguous.

Meh, I hated it in Death Note.

I would like some answers but just don't leave it open like that but also don't go explain it all at once.

No they are selling a game, to a fanbase. They know the end of the story, they just refuse to tell it, because it keeps people wanting more.

It's called a cliffhanger, it's a plot device that's been in existance since forever.

Well there was that one time me and a friend argue about who wn in a fight,

Lee or stonewall jackson.

I agree, which is why you'd expect people to mention the events of DA:O in DA2 regardless of whether you're playing as the Warden again or as Hawke.

That's part of it.  But we're making demands on how storytellers tell their stories now, just because we want instant gratification?

I'm concerned with internal consistency.  As long as the writers are obeying the rules and concepts they lay down for themselves, I'm content to - as I said in another thread - be along for the ride Bioware is taking me on.  Nothing I've heard about the plot of DA:2 strikes me as a violation of that principle.

Getting up in arms about whether or not the writers answer some question in some timeframe is a mindset that will lead to perpetual disappointment.

Yes, I understand where you are coming from. But for people like me who did the DR and what not. We want answers before we jump into Bioware's next story. Witch Hunt said Morrigan's secret revealed, I don't know about you guys...but I got more questions instead of answers.

I don't really care about this Hawke guys story, when I'm still waiting on Bioware finishing the first story they started. I shouldn't have to buy DA2 just to find out minor answers, about my warden's story.

Maybe if Bioware came out and told everybody that the warden will not show up in the future, I would be disapointed, but also happy...so I could move on.

Well it doesn't make me want to jump into Hawke's story at all.

I've played assloads of my Warden already, I just about had enough of him at the end of DA:O and Awakening settled it. He's accomplished his heroic feats, let the game evolve elsewhere than one guy doing everything ever.

You're not forced to play DA2.

I can understand that.  Though, I didn't play Witch Hunt.   Not because I'm not interested in my Warden's story but because I'm basically tired of DA:O from a gameplay point of view and I lost my savegames after I built a new PC.  I'll replay it sometime down the road - likely including Witch Hunt - closer to when DA:2 comes out.  But as far as this topic is concerned and not my personal experience - that's more of an issue with Witch Hunt than moving on to DA:2 is it not?

If Witch Hunt didn't - in some way - promise closure, would as many people be upset with its lack of it?  What if it was just advertised as "follow Morrigan and see what happens" would that have caused as much of a stir as "Morrigan's secrets revealed, DA:O's story ends?"  Meh.  It strikes me as an advertising problem.  But like I said, I didn't play it, so feel free to ignore my interpretation.  If I was in your shoes I probably would.

Exactly the point I was making.  The Warden's actions are important to Ferelden, even from Hawke's perspective in a way that the actions of the Wardens in the centuries-ago previous Blight are not.

Right....so say in DA2, you get attacted to a character, and they leave you with a massive cliffhanger at the end. Which has so much potential, and Bioware annouce DA3. Which forces you into another hero. AND those major questions from DAO & DA2 are still not answered.

That's the sort of game you guys want? plotholes everywhere? ever changing characters? None of your choices really matter?

Way too much wild speculation in that post for me to give you a satisfactory answer.

Your post is akin to handing me a gun and asking me if I want to point it at my face and pull the trigger without knowing if it's loaded.

1. Who says the Origins questions won't be answered in DA2?

2. I don't think you know the definition of a plot hole.

3. Changing characters gives fresh perspective upon the world. I love it.

4. Why do you keep saying the choices won't matter?

Ever changing characters, right?
Do you see the future and know what's being prepared for DA3? I agree with this epic dwarf, as a different perspective upon the world and my Warden's actions are most welcome.

I'm sorry, but this is not the kind of game I Imagined DA turning into, Guess I should just accept the fact that...what happened in Origins doesn't really matter in the world of Thedas. I guess I will wait until DA3 and see if the plot involes Morrigan or the godbaby.

@Dave, I really doubt my questions will be answered in DA2 concerning the godbaby, since Morrigan will most likely not be in DA2, Plus I went into the mirror with her. So wouln't my warden have to show up with her? Which I doubt will happen with the new art design and such...but meh.

I think that from what I saw in Awakenings and WH and from the Gaider Q&As from PAX that the warden will likely reappear after DA:2.

Granted I enjoy A Song of Ice and Fire so story arcs that take years of waiting don't worry me too much.

Where does this keep coming from?  Origin choices DO matter. Hell, Gaider even said the Mage Origin's specific boon of freeing the Mage Tower DOES import.

Which I doubt will happen with the new art design and such...but meh.

There's a fear I can understand! Finally! The Warden will most likely have his/her face concealed with a helmet / hood or something if ever they should reappear as an NPC.

Look I wouldn't even mind if the warden came back voiced, as long as he/she came back.
And BOO! long waits suck.
