Does anyone know if the length of time you spend in the elevators is affect by your system? i.e if you have a really quick hard drive or a ssd would it mean that the rides are really short?

I'm pretty sure there is a minimum ride time, as it will always play audio of some sort, whether a squad conversation or a newscast. But certainly, it will make the ride longer by however much time it needs if it hasn't finished loading within the time of those. If you think the rides are going over that minimum, I suppose it might make a small difference. I wouldn't think it would be worth buying a new drive for though.

The load time is a tiny fraction of the elevator time. There is a minimum time of transit that anything but a prehistoric PC would manage in time. They do a similar thing in ME2 with the load screens but you can replace these with a single frame image and the load time is about 0.5 seconds.

You'll notice a slight freeze where it sometimes says "loading" on elevators this part would probably be longer on slower systems. The rides themselves come pre programmed with a conversation or something usually so i guess they would be the same ammount of time regardless.
