Depending on your back ground he's thirty one or thirty two

Great, another genius. Shepard is born in the same year, same month, same day no metter what background you choose. Where are people getting these things? Go to the danm wikia or look at the codex in-game. It will save you the embarrasment of not knowing a thing about Shepard's history.

He's just been rebuilt from scratch. At most he's in his terrible two's. You should feel lucky he doesn't throw a tantrum with a singularity in one hand and a geth plasma shotgun in the other.

I need a translation for what he/she posted, because I did not get a thing. What's a tantrum?

Why does everyone keep saying 31? People aren't counting the time that passed between the Citadel Geth attack and the destruction of the Normandy. A few months passed and I think Shepard must have passed his birthday.

Sorry, you're wrong, GodWood. I'm right. The Shep you are referencing no longer exists. The one you play after the 31 y/o was turned into a floating charred can of spam is a reanimated meat popsicle. It's been thawing for 2 years and that's as old as it can be. Everything was rebuilt. Nothing was rebuilt to be aged 31 or 29 years. He was CONSTRUCTED to appear that age. But he's a brand spankin new baby no matter the scars or his renegade jerk attitude.

And before you go arguing the contrary, this is an opinion thread. Your opinion is wrong and nothing you say will change that. Pretty much the same way you will incorrectly think mine is wrong and it's your duty to correct me :)

Linky

And don't take what i wrote here seriously. Does Shep really have an age at this point? He's barely passable as a human. Go underneat the derma layer and he glows... HE GLOWS. He's more akin to a lava lamp.

Shepard was born in 2154, Mass Effect 2 takes place in 2185. He/She is 31 max.

Lol Pwnener. You're one to talk, "genius".

1. You don't know that one month passed between the Citadel Siege and the destruction of the Normandy. You should've "wikia"'d it. (It's wiki btw, wikia is the host for the ME wiki).

2. You don't know what the word "tantrum" means.

3. You don't realize to google the word "tantrum".

4. Even if Shepard was born on the first of January, 2154, and the ev ents of ME2 end on the thirty-first of December, 2185, it's still impossible for Shepard to be over 31 years old, unless he's Chinese.

Let's see

he was born in 2154 and it is now 2186

Shepard is therefore 32 chronologically but we subtract 2 years due to him being a charred corpse for that time.

Oh i didnt know that, makes sense. It doesnt seem right though that he/she is younger than Kaiden or Miranda. Default Shep looks older than them in my opinion.

Being dead for two years doesn't magically change his birthdate. Don't see why people have this irrational fear of using his actual birthdate to determine his age, as if saying he's 31 years old makes him a decrepit old man. Physically, he'd probably keep up with an athlettic 20 year old of today anyway. That doesn't make him 20 either.

Plus, humans can live up to 150 years. This means that 30-40 year olds are still active.

Miranda is supposed to look younger. Her lifespan probably will be 50% longer than that of an average Human. She's 36 but should easily look 10 years younger.

kaiden is older than shepard by a few years.. i dont know how old kaiden is but he's bordering on the late 30's early 40's.. at this point leaning to early 40's

Shepard is a cyborg  age means nothing to Shepard. Shepard could live to be 300 or 400 years old still killing bad guys.

You guys also have to take into account that it is not uncommon for Humans in the ME universe to live to be 150.

Shepard is 29 in ME1, 31 in ME2 if you want to say he aged.

Kaidan is thirty-two in ME1, which he says in one of his conversations about Jump Zero, Rahna and Vyrnnus. This would make him 34-ish by ME2 and three years older (also one rank higher)

I wonder if his cybernetic implants will affecting his physical aging at all.  Kind of like Miranda; she had genetic tailoring and ages much slower than normal humans.

A rise in rank tend to be based on ability, achievements etc, not how old you are Posted Image

As to Shepards age, as others have said I think he is 29 in the first game, and therefore 31/32 (depending on how long the events in ME1 were and whether his birthday occured during that time or during the 1 month after ME1 and him getting'spaced').

EDIT: that is 31/32 chronologically.  Physically (as others have already said) is a bit more complicated as he wasnt ageing for 2 years plus a lot of his body is brand new

he is 31 but since he died and was comatose for 2years, he still looks exactly the same as he did when he was 29.

ROFL, if he looks the same as when he died... ROFL, he'd be a dessicated prune. Has frozen in space. lol.

He only looks the way he does now because that's the way Miranda and that dude at the beginning made him.

Take away the skin and he's all glowy inside. He's not human.

One thing though, galactic years and standard years are not the same in ME. Shepard was 29 in ME1, which means that he was 3 years old when first contact occurred. Are the rest of the years counted as galactic years from one point, I assume that the Alliance started using the galactic timetable for simplicity, or are they all counted as earth-years?
