It would be fun to have 1-2 small quests where Hawke isn't the party leader. Maybe he is off handling something off-camera so to speak. Because Hawke is voiced it would seem that odd to have a party with another leader and RP through that character.
Just a random thought after reading the HAving a Baby thread.
Will Hawke Always be in Party?

Like the save the warden from the Dungeon part? That was fun.

I'm ninety-nine percent positive he/she's always in the party. I prefer it that way too. I HATE it when they force you to lose certain characters, but mainly when it's the PC.

Like the sort to be found in KOTOR games? Not a bad idea, in fact a great idea. It would certainly make under-used characters seem more useful. Like spliting your party up in the Final Battle.

Or just a small quest. One that isn't part of the primary quest tree.
I would have loved a rescue quest lead by Dog in DA:O. Let's say the warden gets stuck in a well. Dog has to find the warden. Then go get help. Like an old style Lassie show.

I also like to play only the main character, In Kotor 2 I was forced many times to play other characters. Some of them where never my party members, because I did not like them, so they where like level 6 while I was lvl 25. Then have to play them, first level up 20 levels and then play small idiotic part.

Well Mass Effect didnt have any sequences where you lost control of shepard, so since BW is mass effectifying DA2, probably not, but who know right?

What if Hawkette gets pregnant someone else will have to lead.

I see you wanting something they did in other RPGs like FF series. Where the main character breaks off for awhile and you play as another for a minute. Well in DA:O they had that option for a very brief moment in the prison. I really did like that.

You can play as someone other than the Warden in DAO, in case you send Morrigan or Wynne into the Fade to save Conor.
I've only played that part with Morrigan, so far, but I'm guessing the new dialogue system will be very similar to that bit of the game.

hmm... i'd like to see something akin to ff6, where the party had to separate in two to reach the dungeon's end.

I love parts of any party based game where you have to split your team into two or more groups to achieve a goal. It always seems dumb that you spend the better part of the game gathering your group, yet you only get to use 3 of them at any given time, the rest is just stuck in camp waiting for you to succeed.

Like the part with Joker in Mass Effect 2 and rescue Revan in Kotor. Oh, and rescue the Warden from the dungeon in the first game. I would certainly like to see, something like, this again in Dragon Age 2.Maconbar wrote...

I'd like to see a game more like BG, I'm still waiting for that.
Though, yeah, if I have to bring along an extra horde of people I'll probably never use then it would be nice to have a need for them other than keeping the camp clean.
