Some kind of futuristic machine gun(not the Revenant, I guess the equivalent to that IRL is a M249 SAW), I mean something like a carried .30 cal/.50 Browning/Minigun, etc.  Or, everyone's favorite, a future version of the AA-12!

Mako Cannon IMO.

You know where the Mako is. You should be able to just rip that sucker off and strap it to your back.

I'm pretty satisfied with the 'death laser' Particle Beam, myself. The noise it makes is very appropriate.

In seriousness though, a minigun heavy weapon would be pretty awesome.

But every time I fired it I'd be thinking 'it takes 400000 credits to fire this weapon for 12 seconds.'

You know someone was trying to push the minigun idea a couple months ago... I didn't like the sound of it then and I don't like the sound of it now. That would really make ME2 a Gears of War clone.

Not sure how a minigun would make it a Gears of War clone... that's a bit of an extreme stretch but I think just some kind of LARGE higher dmg, faster firing rate weapon then the Revnant as a heavy weapon. Thing would have to be freakishly more accurate to be worth being a heavy weapon though. Or have explosive rounds, I really miss explosive rounds from ME1. But then I guess 'Inferno rounds' is meant to be its replacement.

Now the AA12. That's just pure death. That'd basically be a smaller ME2 grenade launcher. Or shotgun style, full auto-shotgun spray that has a normal weapon dmg cut off, same or more dmg per pellet then Claymore. THAT would be nasty.

Beyond the obvious orbital strike designator, I'd like something in a smart kinetic-kill weapon. 'Charges' like the Cain or the GPS, though in this case it paints one target after another, getting steadily farther away, then fires a volley of high-damage rounds (something in the Mattock-to-Mantis damage range) that seek each their designated headshot target.

Yeah, I agree - the presence or absence of a weapon is not going to make the game a 'clone' of anything, the assertion is flagrantly absurd. And it certainly isn't a good enough reason for discounting it.

Personally I think the idea has merit but wouldn't be clear, from both a story and a gameplay slant, how it would fit in the game. We already have things like the Revenant and the Particle Beam filling the roles of heavy automatic weapons while it doesn't really make sense why a mass accelerator would not be considered an AR.

It would have to be named Sasha.

On topic, I want a quake 2 style rail gun.

I'd actually have loved for there to be a secondary, charge-up option on the Particle Beam that fires big energy blasts like the one the Geth Primes use. :D
