I played through Mass Effect 1 on this one computer and reached Ilos but didn't complete the game. That was on a different computer than ended up being my brother's. I have my own computer now and use another copy of Mass Effect on it. I have several saved games on this new computer that I use for ME2, I was wondering if it was possible to transfer the saves of one of the characters onto my new computer's Mass Effect. I already tried copying the character's files into the new Mass Effect games' folder but they don't show up in the actual game screens.

Yes, you can. What may be tripping you up is that it keeps a record of active careers in the MassEffectProfile file. Either transfer that over as well (perhaps preferable as this way you'll have all your achievements), or use the All Careers option in the loading menu to access your saves.

I have done this but the Issue becomes for me at least two fold when I transfer over saved files from my Thumb drive to my current PC, first is the fact that any new Auto or Quick saves I do doing say a new game + with the files I transferred don't, as in it says it saves but only Auto/Quick save I transferred shows not the new Auto/Quick save.

Second is any new Career I make doesn show right on my List of saves and any old Career I might delete doesnt show as deleted. (The New Career does show under the All Careers button and shows up on the list after I load a save from it but doesnt stay there when I close the game and reopen it later, I have to go into All Careers again and find and load the save I was last at)

Is there away around such issues when transferring Mass Effect 1 Save files and Profiles over to a new PC or is this something I just have to accept and get use too?

I transferred my MasseffectProfile file over, which may be the source of my issues I am currently having...Minor but annoying as they are

Easiest way to do it it just to copy the entire bioware folder in the My Documents across. It will copy the directory structures, profiles, and settings.
