Either way, adding or removing that word "noble" denotes presumptions and stereotypes about what it is to be "barbarian".Jack Anvil wrote...

I think putting a whole new origin into the game with an expansion might be a little out there though. I think all I really want is a mod to make all my characters wear tophats and monocles instead of helmets. Or I guess just any Victorian style clothing would work.

On a more optimistic note i like the idea of a Human Barbarian origin, maybe being from a tribe that practises magic outside the circle's influence (the shapeshifters etc.) but a non magical member of the tribe (it can't be 100% hereditary otherwise the humans would have killed off the elf mages ages ago and there would be no more, meaning every so often, at least, a non-magical human will be born to magi parents) leaving the path open for them to actually be intelligent and civilised but culturally entirely different and outcast.

I'd rather they didn't on the basis that it really wasn't all that great in Fable *spits on ground* 2 and it just doesn't seem to fit the established mood of DAO. Thats more high-/D&D style fantasy with [insert helpless NPC of the week] getting themselves into trouble again.Arttis wrote...
How about you add children...like in fable 2....and you go save them when they go run into a cave....it will also be your child...

You remember the female dwarf in "The Calling"?
She was part of the Silent Sisters order; they are some kind of Monks(D&D style)
Or maybe some Fighter/Mage?
New Specializations would be also interesting.

- First and foremost, a romance with a female elf of course. Preferably a city gal, but as far as NPCs go perhaps a dalish elf would be more suitable. There's simply no viable romance option for elven males as of now.
- Second, I'd like to see the Human Commoner origin make a reapperance. Closely followed by a dalish elf mage origin. The mage origin being shared between two races and there only being one uniquely human origin is just far too constricting.
- Third, I'd like more specilizations. Aside from Ranger, I just can't find anything for the rogue that fits my character - and it's not even that special of a character, just a dalish scout. Lots of melee and magic centrism, where's the bow & crossbow love?

So your talking something like Oblivion or Fable 2 exspansions?
Probably along the lines of between Fallout 3 and Oblivion I'd wager.

More than anything though, I'd like to see more official support for fan created content. Bioware's fan community has consistently made mods on par with or surpassing the original game content, and I say that with all love towards Bioware. The Community Expansion Packs and the like would be nice to see them do themselves, bundling up mods they think best fit the game, etc and add them in as free 'featured' content.
Beyond those two things, the only other big expansion I can think of that there's a great need for is play of games after the credits roll, and potentially upping the level cap. Anything they can do to extend the time we spend playing a game is as good for them as it is for us.

[*]I too would like to see a human origin that's not a nobleman. The other races get two each (as Mage isn't racialy specific) so why did humans only get one? I was disappointed that all human characters had to be noblemen or wizards.

I'd be content with new chapters/quests similar to the Shale DLC and have new items and achievements(360) with it, plus Shale as a party member is badass.
Fallout 3....was great couldve been better if it stuck to its roots but thats another discussion, but the DLC offered excluding Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, The Pitt(it was ok just really short), but the DLC like Broken Steel, and Point Lookout were done well, with new areas and items, and quests, no NPC to follow though not any new anyways.
Fable 2 had some ok DLC Knothole was so short, was nice visually but really too short for what they charged.
Guess what I'm trying to say is, taking the pros from what's been done and how it was implemented, and staying away from the cons, and I'll be happy.

Hmm i think the Majority of DLC we will get will be very much like wardens keep or the stone prisoner. we will get a couple of new quests probably in a small new area and possibly an extra character or two. i dont think we will get a new origin as DLC simply because it would require new dialogue options right through the game and would take ALOT of work. i think the developers themselves have fallen in love with the background and the lore of the world they have created and as such any meaningful new area (new countries, expanding out from fereldan etc.) will be in sequels alongside new origins.

New quests which take place after
the end of the official campaign would be cool. Things that deal with
some of the aftermath of the main story, and such.
and this.
That pretty much sums up what I want in DLC

Yeah, but they have already stated that adding another origin is extremely unlikely.
You can certainly see why if it impacts your entire playthrough to some extent...
Personally, I would love to have had a Human Commoner origin...
I guess it is possible that there are some unfished origined in the code that would just need polishing off by the DLC team, but mostly I would expect new locations over anything else. Posiibly some more detailed side-quests too...

If you are looking at the Roman origins of "Barbarians" then by those standards a member of the Imperium would clearly view a Ferelden noble as a "noble barbarian"...
