Perhaps they could add new plot forks to existing origins, like 'mage betraying the circle & going apostate' then gets caught & becoming a grey warden is the only escape from templar execution! Then ya could be like Morrigan, maybe even becoming as close to friends with her as dark-hearted people can get!
Or the much stated & worthy suggestion of dalish elf mage. There's gotta be a way in the dalish elf origin for the pc to happen on something connected to the lost dalish elf magic that awakens the ability within the player. Then it could be fun trying to survive the Templar's wrath at the possibility of the danger of the elves so-called '
' magic!
(perhaps via that huge vine spell Morrigan uses in the comic?
)

Mini-campaigns that give you access to new companions with different abilities. Also new classes!

Add-on possibilities could include more party members ( though like new origins it means loads of new dialogue as well, especially when you include party member quests and romances) new quests inside current story like the new one coming out returning to Ostagar and new locations or expanding original ones like Wardens Keep and Shale.
However, although this a great story, the Wardens remain very single goal minded in fighting the Blight, the rest of Feralden has plenty of Warriors and politics on its own. Very hard then to just give us another land to explore in a DLC.
But, this is but one Blight. There are 4 previous and 2 remaining Blights to be fought that can be major expansions or sequels. This does mean different characters and timelines though.
The only logical expansion that I could see in this story line after game end, would be a return to Orzammar to finish reclaiming the Thagins, particularly linking up the two existing populated ones.
But this is just my speculation and I am far from being a genius game desiner, I just enjoy the hell out of them.

A human commoner origin, a qunari or chasind barbarian origin and an apostate mage origin are what I would like to see.

I am looking forward to two major new locations - Aeonar the mages' prison (where Lily was sent off to) and Kal Sharok, the lost dwarven settlement that was rediscovered but hates Orzammar for abandoning them to darkspawn decades ago. Both of these are discussed so frequently in the game that it seems like they'd be obvious and easy additions, either as content to flesh out the existing game (like Shale) or as post-conclusion stories.

I want an expansion like DLC with more liveable villian compared to the archdemon
I want some villian like irenicus and Sarevok, they were pure gold
this archdemon...was a disappointemnt as he had no sign of intelligence or some interesting goal other than destroy everything

I doubt we would see any new companions considering how well Shale is incorporated into the game (party banter, voice dialogue). It would probably be too costly having to bring back previous voice actors to include the dialogue for previous NPCs (best example is the additional dialogue Caridin has with Shale).
Things I would love to see however:
1) Introduce new sections of the cities to explore including quest hubs
2) New enemies and more interesting bosses
3) Improved gear (new designs, more interesting stats)
4) Arena (similar to the illegal proving event, perhaps even make this one repeatable for gold rewards for winning)
5) New abilities (similar to blood abilities from Warden's Keep)

I agree, new full companions are highly unlikely. They could, however, develop a system to create custom extra PCs and add them as bodyguards for the Grey Warden; as characters defined by the player (a la Icewind Dale), they wouldn't need to have full dialogues, personal quests, or interjections with other party members. They'd be just some extra PCs with the appropriate talents and skills to fill in the gaps of your party; quite useful in case you couldn't recruit certain members (or made them leave for whatever reason).
To give the DLC some added value, Bio could also introduce new stuff for the character creator, that would be available for the main character's creation too. They should also write some background story (maybe developing the known board groups?), and quests to be done before you can have access to the system. Once you complete all the tasks of the DLC, you get to recruit (create) these mercenaries and add them to the party after paying some sovereigns.

i would like to see new personal quests for each origin. something later on in the game to make it more relevant for the individual. a chain quests adding to the personal story your character started. i think thats the ooomph the game is missing and if they can add that with DLC I think it would be epic.
even if they only added them one origin at a time I think it would make for some great DLC that many people would really find of value and enjoy.

I would like to see some more personal quests and companion quests and aboat load more of Ferelden.
I would also like a trip to other lands to track down your companions (I think it was FFIII that did that). Open up the world a little so we get a taste then the sequel can do it more.

I would like to see dlc that works, is not buggy and does not dissapear while playing the game. Maybe even dlc that is supported by the developers and that they stand behind and fix if it does not work.
