Okay, so having been working on a new level layout that will potentially be used be builders and players, I'm wanting to confirm if my understanding is correct of exactly what is needed by various parties.
We have the following files associated with a level:
Levelfile.lvl
Levelfile.erf
Posted layout name folder containing minimap and trees folders, and all the .rim files.
When creating a builder to builder export, we only get to select toolset resources, i.e. the area resource using a level. Which of the above files are required? I am guessing it's only the posted layout name folder, but I'm not certain of that.
If I'm sharing the level to be used (and edited) by other modders, I will need the lvl file as a base. Is the .erf required as well? (What does the .erf actually store?)
If we're simply creating a builder to player package, what is required then? Is it only the posted layout folder that is needed? Do the files need to be included from the packages/core folder rather than in in the module's folder?
New Level/Area - Who needs what?

Levelfile.lvl -> basic level
Levelfile.erf -> lightmap information (temporary, to be viewed in toolset, I think)
Posted layout folder -> Used in area.
Builder to player requires just the posted layout folder.
Builder to builder requires, IMO, just the .lvl file. The builder can render lightmaps and post to local to get the remaining stuff. However, including the .erf file gives an idea of how the lightmaps look in the level.
Just curious, are you submitting one for the contest?

yep, click Do All Local Posts, and grab the folder from your addins/(addinname)/core/override/toolsetexport... this contains all the files players (and builders) need if they dont want to modify the level. I tend to call these the layout files, since these are whats needed to select it as a layout.
as timelord says, the .lvl file is the only file a builder needs if they intend to modify the level... the .erf isnt worth including.
I'll quickly include this information on the contest page.

Excellent, thanks guys. That's more or less what I figured, but I wanted to confirm that I was right in my thinking.
TimelordDC: Yes, I am submitting an entry into the content - I'll be looking at putting my entry a little later today. (Sigh, those tree-posting issues added several extra hours of "wasted" time)
