HI,

When I run mass effect 1, it only gets as far as the red bioware text. the colors and resolution go all wonkey, the bioware into freezes. there is (sometimes) an error message saying that my nvidia display driver has stopped working.

I have updated the game to the most currecnt version, and confirmed that the patches are installed. I have updated the drivers for my graphics card, and tried shutting down processes that may conflict with the game, like security stuff, background printing etc.

i have an AMD athalon 64 3500+ CPU, 2.2ghz, 2GB of RAM. i have about 20gb of hard drive space with the game installed, and an nvidia geforce 9800 GTX+ .

Mass Effect 2 runs great on my computer.

Any ideas?

or, anyone know of a better place to look for technical support for this game?

Can you confirm the operating system please?

Being an older game there is little tech support it seems, especially since BioWare did *not* do the PC port. I would mention that you may actually have to downgrade your graphics drivers, though that is a long shot. Simply what is happening is that the game is somehow conflicting with the graphics driver which then crashes the graphics card; the newer Windows operating systems can recover from this fortunately (otherwise it would be a hard reboot).

Have you run it at all before? Have you tried various options in the config utility?
