When Oblivions play, all Armour look good. Even crap armour very much look good.
Game crap progression sense. Better Armour no feel much different. Bioware choose jazz up Armour Mass Dragon 2 upmost must retain crap cheap> High class Armour visual progression feel beyond stats. Or big crap. Progression player sense diminish.
Translation:
In Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, all armors look equally good, even those that are mechanically worthless. This hurts the player's sense of progression, because better armor feels much the same as the lesser armors. By contrast, Bioware chose to make better quality armors more visually impressive. Dragon Age 2 needs to keep that same feel of visual progression as well as statistical, or it'll fall into the same trap as Oblivion.
At least I think I got that right. I have to say I disagree about the point of Bioware following that formula in Origins, my rough Leather doesn't look much different than Wade's Superior Drakeskin. Sure, the heavy and massive armors were rather visually distinct (even with Heavy Chain, the "worst" form, you could clearly see the distinction between Grey Iron/Steel/Red Steel), but Rogues don't wear massive armor.
