Rogue comes in handy for utility. Basically, all parties need a rogue if not only to open chests and doors. So, being a rogue actually opens more options gameplay wise on deciding who you want to accompany you. I also like the 'cunning' dialogue options that peak through once in a while.

I played through the game three times (made a ton of characters, but only beat it three times) using a mage, warrior, and then rogue. I do have to say that Rogue and Mage were more fun than warrior - at least in my opinion. Having to run around for backstabs, the ability to disarm traps, stealing, hiding, etc were just plain fun! Mage was great for perspective. I really shouldn't have gone Arcane Warrior because it made my warrior boring (seemed like my warrior was just a wannabe of my AW).

I'll almost definitely make my first playthrough of DA2 a rogue :D

Someone actually awnserd my questions...Woohoo.
I also have a poll on rogues, here:  http://social.biowar...97/polls/10781/

Uhm... Kinda of topic, but does anyone know how to make banners?

I started the group Rogue Lovers and I kinda want to make a banner for it.

You can also reply to my 'How do you make banners' thread in the off-topic section or send me a message,

I just like dual-wielding, honestly. In other games, I have to unlock dual-wield. I saw Rogue, two swords, I jumped right on that *than I found out warrior can do it to, but whatever. Picking locks is fun too*.

Yes, but apearently dual-wield is rogue only in DA 2, so what will you pick then?

Oh, I'll still use a rogue.  When I found out warriors can dual-wield I just said screw it, and used the rogue.

I want my dual-wield:devil:

Lol, I like dual wield as well. It just looks awesome to swing around two weapons.
But still its a rogue only style now so I hope they have some new techniqes that fit a rogue.

Who uses a shield anyway? Protection, bah!

Anyway, I heard there was supposed to be ... since they want to make the classes distinct and all. *yay for change, I say*

Yes, but I just like the fact that you can sneak around and killing people before they notice you.
But Mage is probably my favorite class, after the rogue of course.Posted Image

@Risax

You should Change the name of the thread to "Rogue Appreciation For DA2".

Just a suggestion:)

I might as well share the video here, I suppose ...

*nevermind the ending, just the three classes*

Rogues are fast. Warriors are pimps. And Mages ... well ... Fwoosh!

But that's basically what I do as a rogue. Run all over the battlefield. Whilrwind was an awesome skill.

Well, Ezio was a bankers son wasn't he? Not a Noble.
But still the dashing rogue types work wellPosted Image.

I've never been into the whole sneaky, backstabby, poisony aspect of Rogues. But at the same time, I find the concept of "tanking" and everything that goes along with it, like taunting, a bit arbitrary and old-fashioned.

What I like are quickness and wit over brute strength. I actually fence in real life (well, having a bit of trouble finding a club or classes at the moment, but I have my own gear), and I love that it requires speed but also quick thinking. It's elegant, in its own way. If you've ever played that old Knights of the Round game, you'll understand what I mean when I say I always played as Lancelot, not Arthur or Percival.

So a dual-wielding Rogue with the Duelist spec was 100% perfect for me.

The following is one of my favorite swordfighting scenes ever, for precisely these reasons.

The Princess Bride also has a bunch of what I like (Wesley vs. Inigo atop the Cliffs of Insanity, for one).

Well his family had wealth so it kinda made him a noble, but no matter. I just wanted to make a spoiled irresponsible ladies man who turned into a responsible ultra-badass world saving ladies man. B)
