Your about to get locked i think
Why? we're not going off subject or flaming. We're all having a civil discussion about our classes, locking this wouldnt even be fare when you have subjects all about people complaining about stuff thats 20+ pages long.
We're being optimistic, which is a rarity amogst these forums. Please dont lock it.

There is a Whirlwind ability...or at least there was during the exaggerated part of the demo. I can only presume that it's available later on.Inside_Joke wrote...

We will try to keep it about changes in DA 2, and we will try to keep it mature as well.javierabegazo wrote...
If this thread can stay about changes to Rogue combat, and what you would or would not like to see it can stay open. If it becomes some juvenile thread along of the lines of "Rogues are the best, all other classes are for losers" kind of garbage, it will get locked.

Yea thats pretty much what I was trying to say too lol.
So we can leap over enemies now? I get the feeling that my like of Rogues will go up by 10000 once I see the new stuff we can do.
Anybody have a vid of the demo I can watch?

And DAO2 seems going even more in this direction, with designers openly admitting that it's just some "strength-based fighter" in one case and "dexterity-based fighter" in the other, which miss the real draw of both classes.

Yea one thing that always bothed me about the combat in Da:o was that you could only do ranged atks if you were either an archer or mage.
a warrior or melee rogue would get pwnt by mage enemies before they got a hit in. and they'd always get me with that constant miss spell >

Aren't the Dalish Dar'Misu kinda like Wazikashis or Katana's?ErichHartmann wrote...

Also I got the 'New ranged weapons' in pole, and throwing knives also sound fun to me.

Mages get more utility, but unless you get the totally broken Arcane Warrior specialization, all you do is stand at the back of the party and go PEW PEW PEW at the baddies. It's so ... impersonal. I want to be right in the thick of combat, getting covered in my enemies' blood.
There's a lot of different ways you can build a rogue. I know everyone favours the High Cunning Rogue, but I actually built a High Strength, High Dexterity rogue and he did pretty well.
What I want to see in DA2 is more variety in light armor, more rogue specific items and, as everyone else is noting, hoods.

Flicker was by far my favorite rogue ability, although I did enjoy blowing stuff up as a mage (walking bomb is the best spell ever!) I'm looking forward to the more acrobatic moves and animations for DA2, should be interesting.

High Dex huh? I perfer Cunning due to the simple fact outsmarting people is fun.
Prime example: Weylon.
That whole converstation is pretty much a CMOA for anyone in cunning.
