Yeah, whirlwind was fun. What I heard from the new skills where that you could leap over your enemies, wich sounds awesome by the way.

Yeah I saw your thread locked down as well...

Why? we're not going off subject or flaming. We're all having a civil discussion about our classes, locking this wouldnt even be fare when you have subjects all about people complaining about stuff thats 20+ pages long.

We're being optimistic, which is a rarity amogst these forums. Please dont lock it. =]

There is a Whirlwind ability...or at least there was during the exaggerated part of the demo. I can only presume that it's available later on.

And no offense to the warrior thread posters, as I like playing a warrior too. But constantly saying "Rogues/mages are nubz" thing is what got your thread locked.

Anyways back on subject before I cause a huge off topic convo that gets this locked.

Rogues have fancy tweedly mustaches. :o

If this thread can stay about changes to Rogue combat, and what you would or would not like to see it can stay open. If it becomes some juvenile thread along of the lines of "Rogues are the best, all other classes are for losers" kind of garbage, it will get locked.

We will try to keep it about changes in DA 2, and we will try to keep it mature as well.

Yea thats pretty much what I was trying to say too lol. :wizard:

So we can leap over enemies now? I get the feeling that my like of Rogues will go up by 10000 once I see the new stuff we can do.

Anybody have a vid of the demo I can watch?

I always play as mages, but I must say that rogues sound WAY (to the tenth power) more fun this time than in DA:O's. I might try one, but I doubt I'll get far. I'll miss my magic too much. However, I'm sure I'll try and have a rogue in my party.

Do Rogues have any new Deathblow moves in DA2?

Cloaks and hoods would be awesome, maybe some Ezio half-capes. (lol I'm not as much of a Ezio fanboy as I sound.)

I only read this on another thread, it was shown on PAX I believe.
Is there anyone here who have been to PAX and tell us more about this???

I want cloaks in general, but I especially want them for my rogue. I can only hope.

I love warriors and rogues in equal measures. But I didn't liked rogues as much as usual in DAO, as they just felt like "light-armored warriors" and not really rogues - too much about fighting, not enough actually "roguish" part.

And DAO2 seems going even more in this direction, with designers openly admitting that it's just some "strength-based fighter" in one case and "dexterity-based fighter" in the other, which miss the real draw of both classes.

Yea one thing that always bothed me about the combat in Da:o was that you could only do ranged atks if you were either an archer or mage.

a warrior or melee rogue would get pwnt by mage enemies before they got a hit in. and they'd always get me with that constant miss spell >:o

Aren't the Dalish Dar'Misu kinda like Wazikashis or Katana's?
Also I got the 'New ranged weapons' in pole, and throwing knives also sound fun to me.

Rogues is awesome. I've tried a warrior and found that it gets repetitive fairly quickly. It's great to be able to soak up damage and face the enemies head-on, but it's always the same thing: CHARGE AND ATTACK, CHARGE AND ATTACK. And there's nothing for you to do outside of combat, like disarming traps or unlocking chests or picking pockets.

Mages get more utility, but unless you get the totally broken Arcane Warrior specialization, all you do is stand at the back of the party and go PEW PEW PEW at the baddies. It's so ... impersonal. I want to be right in the thick of combat, getting covered in my enemies' blood.

There's a lot of different ways you can build a rogue. I know everyone favours the High Cunning Rogue, but I actually built a High Strength, High Dexterity rogue and he did pretty well.

What I want to see in DA2 is more variety in light armor, more rogue specific items and, as everyone else is noting, hoods.

Flicker was by far my favorite rogue ability, although I did enjoy blowing stuff up as a mage (walking bomb is the best spell ever!)  I'm looking forward to the more acrobatic moves and animations for DA2, should be interesting.

My fav was a dualist Rogue who dual-wielded and had all the dodge talents.

No man could hit me as I danced around them and lol'd before I made they're head separate from its body.

High Dex huh? I perfer Cunning due to the simple fact outsmarting people is fun.

Prime example: Weylon.

That whole converstation is pretty much a CMOA for anyone in cunning.
