I could see Dex being the defensive aspect. And Cunning being the offensive.
What a twist!!

As disturbing as that sounds, I hope they keep that finishing move.

There is a Whirlwind ability...or at least there was during the exaggerated part of the demo. I can only presume that it's available later on.Inside_Joke wrote...
I am curious about new skills we'll get ...
Serious, whirlwind was my best friend .. something similar would be lovely
And life is right, once again.
**is it shameful I never used flicker? Only knew of it's existence a couple days ago ...
Also, the stealth skill ... do you eventually move faster? I gave up on it because I moved so slow.
Faster stealth would be nice for DA2.

In DAO, you can move almost at full speed if you drink something in Warden's Keep. I am guessing that in DA2, they'll just make rogue stealth speed upgradable.Inside_Joke wrote...

Hmm, maybe the speed will increase with Dex.? That'd be nice (unless you get Superman speed, that's just silly).

If you were a dually warrior and had momentum and the speed increasing power of blood ability plus at the most medium armor on you could be faster then a rogue O_o.
Really...but Not really.
Sure you do that, you're faster then a Rogue, but for the price of being faster you lose defense, stamina, and of course health.
You should really only do it, if you have Poultice, and in a tight spot.

A Rogue shouldnt be a warrior. and Vice-versa.
(Unless said rogue has dualist and legionnaire scout. Then you could pretty much be an alt tank.)

As for DA2, my list is quite simple: twin blades, cloak/cowl, throwing knives, quick fingers, stealth.

I loved playing as a rogue in DA:O. So many different ways to play them; sneaky backstabber, archer, psudo warrior.

Dont forget the ability to woo the womens.

It bugs me that Cunning is being made Defensive, while Dexterity is more Offensive, you'd think Cunning would be for attacking, as it would allow you to see the enemies weak spots easier, no?
And with Rogues being the only one to use DW, does that mean that Str Requirements on Swords/Axes/Maces wont be as high anymore so they can use them? Since, they were really only good for Warriors in Origns, but they can't Dual Wield anymore..

I loved my Rogue, End Game they hit insanely fast, and insanely hard. Screw Momentum, I used Haste from my Mage (Wynne/Anders), which is better

It may put more of an emphasis on ability tiering.
Where in the first one we only need 4 levels to use the highest tiered weapons it may be a single talent for each tier.
So if they'rd be 7 tiers we'd have 7 diff abilities for it. idk?

I'll go first, the reason I love rogues is because I love the feeling of being a sneaky little killer. In most my playthroughs of DA:O I have been a rogue. But unfortunatly I got the feeling I was more of an underpowerd warrior then the sneaky assasin I was hoping to be.
Are you sure you played DAO? The cunning rogue is the most powerful class when it comes to single target killing, all assasinatons from behind (and a lot of stealth use), and unsurpassed damage in a low time. Really with a cunning rogue with assassin spec you could kill an ogre deltha in less than 3 seconds. Nothing did come even close to the damage output of a cunning rogue.
Warrior's dual are good, yes, but they lack the damage output of a backstabbing rogue in DAO, more, they play completely different: the former is more talent spamming (without either using Momentum), the latter is all backstabbing and destroying high threath's target from behind, fast.
What I would like for DA2 is that the Rogue would rely, in fact, more on abilities than simple attack spamming to assassinate, and it seems that the new archetype system is going in this direction. After a while, also if very powerful, the cunning rogue was a bit boring to play, just for this. Using talents (apart for RP reasons) just was more an inconvenience for an assassin's rogue.

They just removed the silly animation. In DAO a backstab was simply a critical with a different animation (that actually made you hit with only the main hand). I actually made a mod sometime ago that already removed this limitation, transforming backstabs to simple criticals (using both hands) and I assure you that the rogue was even better this way.

*nevermind the ending, just the three classes*
Rogues are fast. Warriors are pimps. And Mages ... well ... Fwoosh!
But that's basically what I do as a rogue. Run all over the battlefield. Whilrwind was an awesome skill.
I love how your dog is so cooperative in this.
