So a dual-wielding Rogue with the Duelist spec was 100% perfect for me.

I get what you mean, but, alas, the Rogue Duelist was inferior to the Warrior's DW just for this reason: deathblow. Sure, he had PS that was very good, but it was not enough. A Warrior DW can spam talents all the time just because every kill stamina replenish. Alas, rogues in DAO don't have this neat ability and this in turns make them inferior on face-to-face encounters. More, if you have DLC using Blood Thirst and Precise Striking, critical chance is much greater for a warrior than a Rogue, so the warropr is best used to play as you would like to in DAO.

I like too the Duelist archetype but it was not so well done imo in DAO. For what I see in DA2 instead it is all another thing since attacks replenish stamina and that stylish way to play can work quite well.

All in all I like that DW is only Rogue, since the role are more defined this time around, and, differently from how people think about it, this in turns make you able to create MORE archetypes instead of less.

Which in a way is true Amioran, the only thing that would make it better is if we could just use a single weapon instead of either going dual with rogue or sword n board or greatsword with warrior.

But alot of people overlook the point you just made, but I agree! ^_^

I adore rogues, I just wish the trap system was a bit.. better. If I can see 10 traps in the room, can't I tell my party they are there so they don't go rushing in to trigger them all (and do I need to say "look there, it's a trap" for EACH one?). Even when I create a warrior or mage character, I always find myself playing the rogue in the party (usually Leliana since she's more archery-specced). Would also love to see more armour choices for us rogue-types but otherwise I am pretty happy with the skills we had in Origins and the way we filled the utility class role.

Also to the OP who made the sig, as you can see you spelled 'we' wrong lol.

Needless to say I still have the sig.

Yes! Sometimes, you sneak into a room full of enemies and traps. Your rogue may or may not be able to disable a them and sometimes disabling a trap could break your stealth and reveal your presence. The ability to mark traps before battle for your AI-controlled party members would be a nice feature.

Rogues RULE! I have always played a rogue whenever possible even IRL.

Some rogue memories of mine came from Diablo III (or II? dun rmbr...), Morrowind, Divine Divinity, Oblivion and of course DAO... Can't wait to play MOAR!

Same here.

Assuming trap detecting and lockpicking is still rogue only, I'm so going to be a rogue in the first playthrough.
I love playing rogues because, for some strange reason, I feel most useful as a rogue, in all my warrior and mage playthroughs I hated the fact that my Warden was just standing there doing nothing while Zevran/Leliana was busy picking locks or disarming traps.

Rogues are always my first choice in any RPG. Love them for their versatility and for their ability to take out powerful opponents quickly.

Yup, always played rogues first. And whenever I am a mage/warrior I feel awkward, not being able to lock-pick or disarm traps or sneak around or backstab...

Good thing about playing a rogue first is that you can find out where you need trap detecting and lockpicking skills. I hated it when I was in a place and a door/chest remained locked. Certain places in Origins (Ruines of the Werewolves) were a nightmare if you had a rogue with you who didn't have enough skill points. >>'

Since we get Varric as a companion in the game, rogues should get a chest hair talent branch.

I fit in best as a rogue player. Rogues seem to have the skill set that is best suited to my play style- a highly persuasive, nimble, and intelligent character who doesn't feel a need to intimidate others purely through sword and shield (or maul, 2h sword, or spells). They're intimidating enough without it. :)

The ability to disarm traps and the like was a pure bonus for me, especially coupled with the stealth skill. Granted, it makes the party composition a bit more difficult to determine, but I tend to switch mine up a lot on playthroughs.

I support teh rogues! They Always fitted to me, as I usually in Rpg's try to roleplay a character that's like me, sooooo... Smartass, Persuasive, kind of stealthy, and agile type of characters fit me best. Also I <3 backstabs.

Am I the only rogue-lover that prefers archery over backstabbing?

Never needed a rogue. My warrior can can win fights easily enough and is decent at opening doors and chests. Sensing a trap isn't a big deal since when you have a **** ton of health it doesn't matter if you get hit by a bear trap :P.

Whenever I play a warrior, I end up playing as a dual wielding regardless (I just find it more fun than 2H or sword and board). There's basically no reason for me to play as a warrior when I can play rogue, do more damage (use twin daggers + focus on dex = success) and get more skill points.

I played an archer rogue in DAO and found the experience just as enjoyable as playing a backstabber. No need for a tank if you have defensive fire and suppressing fire. And critical shot is a lot of fun if you team up with a mage.

I enjoy all the classes, but rogue is my favorite. My ultimate DAO character is a sort of rogue hybrid (archer, duel-wield, ranger, assassin or duelist). I want to be able to open locks & detect/disarm traps from the start. When exploring I prefer to man the point myself, and that's a rogue's job;) I also love to use summons, there is nothing like having a 7 (or 8) member party to deal with tight situations;)

If it were me I wouldn't change much rogue-wise in DA2. If ranger specialization still exists (I hope it does), one thing I would like is more control (tactics) for the summoned creatures.

Whe have heard some things about new rogues skills, like jumping over enemies and such.

But what about archery? Like I said I haven't had character of my own who specializes in it, but I liked Leliana and Nathaniel using it.

So will there be any new skills available for archers? And will there be archery finishers?
