I present my own Signature. It's a little bigger than the ones commonly seen here on Bioware Home, but hey. It's a fixed version of the one on page one, post one.

So will there be any new skills available for archers? And will there be archery finishers?

Bioware has previously confirmed that rogues will have archer talents. However, it didn't reveal any details. As a matter of fact, I doubt there were even any archers in the demo shown at PAX.

The reason why I could never play an Archer was the same why I could never play a Mage the whole ranged thing was boring I preferred pwning nubz and then kindly removing they're heads.

But in DA2 Mages get special kills, so hopefully archers will too.

Rouges are cool! I love dual wielding and glad the warriors don't have it now. he-he-he )))
And em.. hope it's ok if I don't take the signature? It just ruins my eyes and there's not much left of them anyway

Rogues are pretty much all I play, I've tried the mage route, but never get passed like lvl 11 before starting over. Warriors to me, while good to have in the party, are boring to play.

What I would like to see is rogues given the chance to instakill (with it's own finishing move) when they sneak up stealthed behind an unsuspecting foe before the main combat starts. Just a chance, not automatically happen, but it would be awesome to see a sword burst through ones chest while the other hand is breaking ones neck.

out of my many characters the rogues are my favorite to play. If i build them right they're persuasive, amazing at lockpicking, and lethal. When it counted up the party damage, i had 75% of it at the end of my first play-through, and i usually used the same party members.

I also like how they get a new skill every second level.

Do you think playing as a Rogue will influence the story in some way?

I mean if you play as a Mage it is said people will react diffrently to you,for obvious reasons.

But I'm wondering if this applies to other classes as well.

honestly I dont think the mage route will effect much save for

"Hey ur a mage too! Omigawd!!!!11111 O_o"

kinda like how the origins were in DA:O we'll get a slightly diff line and thats about it.

I might be wrong though?

I first played a rogue because I saw they had the ranger spec and I love playing archer/dual wield chars, which is basically the ranger class in d&d and the like. Then I realized ranger in DA had nothing to do with archery so I went with duelist/assassin spec'd in dual wield with some arher skills and pretended I was a ranger class. Probably could have done that with a warrior, but assassin/duelist went so well with dps output of DW.

Anyway, I really hope rogues get a true ranger class with skills other than animal companion. Animal companion is nice, but when that's the only skill you get it doesn't feel like a true ranger class.

yea, the animal summon thing would've been better with a druid like spec.

Very true. The ranger class for DA fits the druid archtype a lot better. Animal companion isn't out of place for a ranger though. I just wish the skill tree for it had gone something like:

Animal companion - Special archer ability - Special archer ability - Improved animal companion

Then have the ranger choose whether they want a wolf, bear, or spider. That way instead of wasting skill points on two animals you're probably never going to summon, you instead gain some useful archer skills to make archer rogues a much more viable class to play as.

Good point about ranger there, I only used the wolf myself (occassionally the bear if the wolf was on cooldown). Hopefully we'll get more archery loving in DA 2 :)

I usually made Leliana a ranger just so I wouldnt waste a spec point but never actually used the animals.

Same goes for Morrigans shapeshift, never cared to use it.

was quite happy with the Ranger Pet summoning, fitted with what I wanted from a Ranger.

So I do agree that I seldom used 2 out of the 3 animals. But still was by far my most favourite rogue one ... never have build a DW rogue as a PC myself.

I like this. Another idea might be to give the ranger a special "survival" boosting ability.

One thing I can say in favor of multiple animals is that when I'm trying to play in max "reality" mode I do use at least two animals types, one outdoor (wolf) and one indoor (spider). For example I can't see how I would summon a wolf whilst in the Deep Roads, it has to be spidey.

Made a banner too.

*tried playing around in mspaint and it worked.*
**made two smaller ones too**

**on the topic of ranger skills ...
I only ever summoned the spider. Once the novelty of it wore off though, I stopped using it.

Great work thanks!
But the 'K' at the end of dark is nearly invisible.

Heck ya! Rogues all the way!!!

I've been playing a Rogue in RPGs since I was given Blodgett as a pre-generated Character in "Slave Pits of the Undercity"... man did I just date myself. Image IPB

My main D&D character for years was a halfling rogue! He was like Yoda in a lightsaber battle... simply unhittable... that's if you lived past his opening back stab. Image IPB

I enjoy playing the rogue class because of the versatility that class implies.

That is why I am hoping that the game will revamp the skill system. Since the requirements for possessing each of the skills were very minimal and the fact that your team mates in many cases could take your skill in your stead made the Rogue’s benefit of acquiring additional skills rather moot.

Still I had great fun running around skewering or eviscerating my hapless opponents.

I hope archers get something.
I never played as one, but I noticed in Awakenings Nathaniel ended up dealing out 1k hits with Arrow of Slaying *or that's what I think it was*.
If we can deal that damage with a flying, pointy stick, I would think finishing moves possible. *Even if a 1K shot to the face is epic in itself*

@Risax
Sorry about the k, it looks brighter on my computer, I'll try and fix it.

I edited the title of the thread. This forum is not a place to advertise your groups nor is it a place for fan clubs by way of "appreciation threads". it should be a place for discussion so lets keep the thread going in that direction if you please

I've decided to repost this comment to further explain the goal of cutting down on banter in Appreciation threads

:) It's not that I'm trying to bully the appreciation threads. Its just that one person makes an appreciation thread, with the intent of discussing something, and then 5 other people make their own threads because they feel they aren't represented enough, but then 4 of those threads turn out to page and page of just banter and not discussion, the exact reason why the Tali Love thread was banned for a few months from being a topic.

It's not good to have appreciation threads chock full of bumps, and back and forth banter, because it essentially pushes more legitimate threads with questions and other more serious discussion to pages 3 and 4 and so on, until you have a full page full of nothing but fan love, which is great, but the majority of the time, that belongs in the Group Section
