Rogues in DA2- A Discussion

I'm a bit of a RPG masochist too, I enjoy glass cannon character builds that are self-reliant but, if you screw up, it's usually catastrophic. The challenge is great, high risk makes for the best entertainment to me. That's why I love my rogue-ish skill sets! Go rogues!

I've decided to repost this comment to further explain the goal of cutting down on banter in Appreciation threadsIt's not that I'm trying to bully the appreciation threads. Its just that one person makes an appreciation thread, with the intent of discussing something, and then 5 other people make their own threads because they feel they aren't represented enough, but then 4 of those threads turn out to page and page of just banter and not discussion, the exact reason why the Tali Love thread was banned for a few months from being a topic.
It's not good to have appreciation threads chock full of bumps, and back and forth banter, because it essentially pushes more legitimate threads with questions and other more serious discussion to pages 3 and 4 and so on, until you have a full page full of nothing but fan love, which is great, but the majority of the time, that belongs in the Group Section
No offense, but seeing as not a lot of info is out about the game, and it's not coming out quickly at all, what does it matter if people want to use their time in between talking about their favorite aspects of the DA game?
Go by what your stating, there would be no activity worth anything for days until 1 bit of new info is leaked.
And yeah with the amount of completely usleless and retarded threads out there that continue to go on and on it does appear that you are trying to bully the appreciation threads.

But you don't have to come here and read all our fan love.

We got seven pages of Rogue love, lets not ruin it by getting this locked.

Rogues in DA2, need better looking armor, perhaps some clothing type armors and masks instead of helmets. Daggers need more variety.
Str restrictions for different materials needs to go also as it's pretty damn silly concept

I'll repost this in the other threads so that my intention can be more clear as well"
Dont make a thing out of this, I jumped the gun abit and apologized, lets keep this about rogues. Not mod bashing.

Well that actually makes more sense then those dumb*** helmets whe have to wear.
Ask for the mask design,I'm hoping something like those renaissance masks.

And I'll add to the chorus of please, please, please, cloaks and hoods!!!
Oh and some dark black leather armour. Black leather with shinny studs would be nice… I like my rogues to have a little punk rock aesthetic!

Yes, I loved the Blackblade armour in Awakening simply because it was black and would fit the whole rogue thing, sad enough you only had the chest piece and it didn't look like a unique armour like it was supposed to.Kiely wrote...

But still, in DA 2 I want to have some unique armour.
Something gracefull if it could but for battle, like an Orlisian Bard style?
And now whe are on topic of Bards, whose hoping for another bard companion?
And I mean the ruthless cunning spy, not the ex-bard turned goody two-shoes.
Also I would like to see some of the Orliasen Empresses personal Assasins, The Shadows of the Empire.
Although the Shadows of the Empire might just have been a Star Wars reffrence...

I haven't played Awakening yet...
I was excited when I got the Shadow of the Empire armour but then I put it on and the purplish hew erased my enthusiasm... I thought it was going to be much cooler. Why was there no complete set of unique armour for the rogues? You could argue (given the AW class), that rogues were the only class left out in this regard.
A Bard NPC would be nice for a second play through of DA2 and beyond. I'm playing through DA:O as a warrior now and I'm finding myself playing Leliana quite a bit when not in battle (when I usually spend most my time controlling the mage). Playing as a rogue for my first play through I will likely take the bard specialty so another bard would just "sit in camp" so to speak... unless I make them an archer? But to me that is more of a ranger thing. I like my Bard/Duelist to be a bomb throwing, poison using, master of blades.

More black armor would be fantastic! I was quite pleased with the Black Blade *I literally felt rewarded for getting that*. I didn't even care about the stats, I just thought it looked cool.
Also! For weapons, I just have to say, the Daisy Cutter is amazing (just because it's so ridiculous). I'm wondering if we'll still get the option to use single-handed axes and maces ...? I think those weapons were more directed to the rogues, but I could be wrong. (I love having the option of using something besides a dagger, it just seemed unique).

A katana/wakazashi style DW set would be nice!

Howe's Biteback axe was a unique axe which was great for rogues. I would like to see more like them, unique axes for rogues that is.Inside_Joke wrote...
I agree about having another Bard. It was weird, it seemed Leliana really was more effective at being a bard then I was. My skills always seemed less effective than her's *which made me sad*.

As for Bards, I favor the ruthless cunning side and I would prefer it to be a women like Katriel from the Stolen Throne.
If you have a high approval or romance with her she will confess she was send to kill you, but when she has a low approval she might try to kill you.

I like the idea of widening the possibilities of weapons designed for rogue use. Then we could explore some of the other weapon schools besides primarily dual weapon and archery.

I think that would be a good plotline.
Having to maintain approval or risk him/her reverting to his/her original purpose could be interesting.

Yup, and her companions quest might involve looking for the person that orderd her to kill you, wich could be a character earlier on in the story who Hawke saw as an ally.Kiely wrote...

Yeah it would be kind of cool to see some of that going on for sure. I really wish rogues were given the option to also throw a dagger, think that would be a cool animation to see, but I don't have high hopes for that one.
