If we get something similar to Coup de Grace or Accuracy in DA2... *shudder*
I don't know why, since I never played Awakening, but I'm suddenly reminded of a feat in Pathfinder (D&D 3.75 ed, basically) that lets a rogue coup de grace a stunned foe.
Rogue: I delay until after the monk.
Monk: Stunning fist.
Rogue: I attack, dastardly finish to coup de grace!
DM: *sighs and rolls death check*
You have to be Level 9 to get it though. Anyways, back to DA!
I imagine that improving talents for a Rogue might involve increasing the base damage, adding a secondary effect, or augmenting a secondary effect. For example, a Two-Weapon Rend* skill strikes an enemy with both weapons and inflicts a defense penalty for a short duration. Possible upgrades would include increasing the damage of the skill, increasing the defense penalty, increasing the duration of the defense penalty, or adding bleed damage (slight damage over time, enemies with blood only, same duration as the defense penalty). So with one talent point, you've got a decent skill on its own merits, but with five, you have a talent that you'll still be clicking in the endgame. Which...you ought to be if you sunk five talent points into it. And if nothing else, every active talent can be improved by increasing its damage and reducing its cooldown, while every passive talent can be improved by increasing its effect. The trick is making sure that improving an existing talent is as attractive as learning a new one. ...I so want a Two-Weapon Rend skill like that in DA now.
As for my plans...I'll probably play through the game as a male mage first, but roll up a female rogue to play with after Garret** finishes the game/gets stuck somewhere.
