Saving Ash every playtrough because Kaiden sounds like Carth. And I hated Carth.
Havent even spoken to Kaiden if it's not nessecary because he sounds like Carth.
Your honest reason for saving ashley or Kaiden?

I'm making myself save Ashley at least once, because she's named after one of my favorite characters of all times. Hail to the king, baby.
Otherwise, its Kaidan, whether I'm playing maleshep or femshep. my "me" shep romanced Kaiden and stayed faithful to him as well, I love love love the voice and he's just so very somber and steady, and so very dedicated. he has morals and values, he has principles and it takes a great deal of provocation for him to consider changing them, and yet, he does consider changing his opinions if the situation merits it. I like that in a man
and it took him over 2 years just to start getting over your death, if you romanced him, how can I not appreciate feelings that run that deep?
I don't really actively dislike Ashley, especially after you get to know her a bit, I just like Kaidan more. I don't think he's boring, just very goodie two shoes
he's the voice of reason basicaly, almost always trying to make peace. I think its partly due to his background and what happened when he let his anger take over, so when you see him get angry and show it, you know something its serious. Ash, on the other hand gets angry at the rop of the hat - its partly why my renegade femshep likes her, cause they are 2 peas in a pod, but this also explains why she's not getting promoted as much - its not just her background.

Finally did a playthrough where I save Kaidan. Not happening again. Ashley is still my favorite romance so she'll be saved from now on.

Somehow, even though i put Ashley at the bomb and went to save her, the salarians still survived, how come?
I really don't understand it, was it because it killed off all Geth defences or something? because it makes no sense that the Salarians survived even though i went to save the bomb team...

The Salarians had split into three teams, Joker picked two of them up before heading to the bomb site.

Ashley because I was playing as a male. When ME3 gets closer I'll play again, but as a female this time, and probably save Kaidan. But he's a pretty bland character, so I might cringe a little bit.

Well... first time I ever played Ash got saved. Most of the time I nuke her. But seriously, Keidan is a lone guy in the univers while Ashley has a family. This was the reasoning behind not nuking her.

First time, I was romancing Kaidan. Sorry, Ash.
The next two Sheps weren't interested in Kaidan (they wanted Garrus and Thane, respectively), so he got blown up. Oops.

Kaidan because I disliked Ashley ever since I started as a spectre. Once I finally got into dialogue with her she annoyed me immensely and to my fault I'm not the kind of person who's tryin to change everyone they meet so I just didn't talk to her and when the situation finally came up I chose Kaidan over Ashley even though I didn't use either of them.

For the one male Shep I have, it was his LI, for the FemSheps, it really depends on how I am playing them, and who their LI is.

My first playthrough, I romanced Kaiden, and therefor kept him to see how that would evolve. However, every other playthrough I keep Ashley. She always had a best friend feel to me. She's honest and a good fighter. Kaiden was always pretty worthless in a fight imo. If I wasn't romancing him, he also lacked in character.

Well, on my Femshep Engineer, I saved Kaidan because he was my LI.

I liked Ashley better, it's as simple as that.
Somehow Kaidan is also making me feel like he wants to get into my pants (when playing a femshep, which I do most of the time) right from the get-go, albeit rather subtly.
Ash was more interesting, at least to me, and I don't get her beliefs as being outright fanatic or being a thorough xenophobe against everything that isn't human.
It is rather like the relationship between Cardassians & Humans in Star Trek, a deep seated resentment for what either side did to each other, just like Turians & Humans before the events of Mass Effect 1.

Even though I loved Ashley Williams' personality, I couldn't let Carth Onasi die after all he has been through!

The first time, I was romancing Kaiden, and decided my Shepard deserved to suffer. So Kaiden bit the dust. Other reasons were
1) Ashley's a girl, albeit an awesome girl character, and I will always save a girl over a guy.
2) She had better conversation material for me, and I could empathize with her being the oldest of her sisters.
3) She has a lot to make up for, and she needed the chance more then Kaiden. Plus, I thought it fit his story better that he died a hero.

I save Ashley because the game won't let me abandon both of them.
*SLIGHT ME2 SPOILER*
However, I really, really hate how she calls me a "god" in the second game. Her overblown nonsense on Horizon is just ridiculous, like arguing with a teenager. Kaiden is much more reasonable to talk to and I buy his position more than hers. So, on my next playthrough, she's going to get left behind. Besides, from a slightly RP perspective, I can see Kaiden going on to make a difference and a positive impact on the universe. Ashley, well, she's a warrior. She should die in battle.

I had to make a choice. But I don't save the same one every time as my characters aren't the same and make different decisions base upon their personalities. I really don't like either of them personally. Wish there was an option to kill them both or save them both some how, but oh well. I roll with it.

Ash seemed like a bit of a bonehead to me tbh, I was regretting romancing her and I was noticing that Liara was hitting on me. Plus I thought it would give my Shepard a more tragic edge lsoing his love interest.

I never save Ashley, even if I romance her. Kaidan is an officer and the need for an officer supersedes the need for infantry, to which I view as replaceable. I always send Kaidan with the salarians and when they regroup at the AA tower, it just makes more sense to save Kaidan in order to save the most lives.

I love Ash and Kaidan. Ash is my favorite character. Hate making the choice. Fun thing for me is I don't like any of the me2 crew and I can kill every single one with a mouse click.
