My first Shepard saved Alenko, I myself was 100% I could save both. Oh well guess not...

Heh! My Sentinel is a renegade and likes that Ashley is bit of a human supremecist. So she was to be saved.

I honestly really disliked Kaiden...his character fell so flat for me (just my opinion...Kaiden Fans please don't hunt me down and kill me...lol)
I only saved Ash because she was the more interesting of the two of them.

the first time i was like i didnt think anybody would die and just that i needed to blow up the factory, and covering alenko was the best solution. And then i thought "BROS BEFORE HOES!!"

I only used Ashley in my rushed playthroughs where I lost Wrex. Never really connected with either as characters though.

Honestly didnt like Kaiden, his character sucked in my opinion and to be really honest my first Shepard had a relationship with Ashley

First time through I was romancing Liara. I thought Ashley was a total female dog (not because of her alleged racism or because she believes in God). I disliked her attitude.

Now that that's out of the way: I did what the game (characters) told me to do. Kaiden with his technical know-how had to be with the bomb and Ashley was best suited for helping out the team she'd be fighting with. When I got to the choice I remember the Kirahee talking about how they'd be forgotten because they were STG. I felt that they should live and since Ashley was with them I had to save the most people I could. I wasn't going to sacrifice an entire team for one soldier.

Since then I've taken a shine to Ashley and I save her everytime.

I have a soft spot for Carth and Kaidan, Partly because Carth was my first fictional romance and I love his voice, *_*.

As well as the fact my Female Shep had to romance SOMEBODY, (Not liara, not a man of F/F relationships).

As well as the fact, that saving Kaidan makes great fodder for fan-fiction Drama. XD

I saved Ashley because Kaiden's a whinner, and he just isn't interesting to me at all. Ashley has more of a background to her and i personally like poetry. Plus my male shepard romanced her.  I'm a huge Ashley fan:)

I used to save Ashley even though my Shepard wasn't male but then I thought Kaidan's a good man and he loved Shepard he at least deserved to be saved if not chosen as the partner also Ashley had a good life family love and a normal one but Kaidan had it all hard and tough he needed to live and see the bright future I still really have doubts since I wanna go through the games again before ME3

Shepard 1 (idealist soldier) saved Ashley having bonded with her -both being women from military families
Shepard 2 (ruthless cop) saved Kaiden because of a crush (unrequited because he was too confused/scared of her bad-girl attitude).
Shepard 3 (highly-strung xenophobe) saved Kaiden for a romance
Shepard 4 (rogue-ish womaniser) saved Ashley for bedding
Shepard 5 (nihilistic headcase) saved Ashley because she was romancing Kaiden and you always hurt the one you love

Killed Ash, may god have her soul. Seriously if you still believe in god after all the aliens disproved the whole of christianity and such you're probably not that smart anyway. I really dislike religous Americans, they are practically the Taliban of the west (please see Tea Party members opinions on things to get my point). Ofc the fact that Ash and me are soldiers so Kaidan fits better in the team is also a reason.

She is not a zealot. She only mentions God once.

I'm an atheist myself, but I fail to see how the existance of aliens disproves the existance of God. All it proves is that God as most religions understand it does not exist; not that there isn't a higher power.

toppic: first playtrough my MShep send Kaidan with the Salarians, so Ash plot the nuke. primary mission goal: nuke must detonate -> secure the bomb also secured Ash

Saved Ashley because I hated (and still do) Carth 2.0. Also, my Femshep needed a best friend. Like that show Military Wives, but without the husbands and soppy Lifetime melodrama. Dudeshep just needed Ashley to gratify his ego in the inevitable epic cat-fight between her and Tali in ME3. Other reason, I just flat-out liked her character. She was snippy, badass, and a wise-crack.

I saved Ashley.

First reason was that I liked her better then Kaiden.

Second reason was I had her as a squadmate most of the time.

Kaiden, by comparison, I never used past the Eden Prime location at the very start of the game.
If I wanted a Biotic, I chose Liara.

So when the time came to sacrifice one of them, I wrote out the one that I wasn't using (Kaiden) to ensure that the one I was using (Ashley) lives.

First time I played I sacrificed Kaiden. I felt that he'd be a better tech guy (even though they said there wasn't much to do after it was armed) and I felt if need be... he could throw a stasis or barrier to protect the bomb

She was a regular in my squad, he was only my romance. Practicality won this one.
