I can't see how Energy Drain can be much useful on a Soldier.

I agree. Energy Drain is much better than Overload for Soldier. Primarily because Overload is not an option at all.

it's useful against people with tech shields, or against robots...even people without shields at all, it takes out good deal of energypadaE wrote...

being a class that doesn't have a useful skill, yet having something as substitute = awesome...OniGanon wrote...

the reasons why i'm not a adept or vanguard is because soldier class got all the right tools... but with DLC you can play other classes with different abilities ...

I like both. Energy drain strips shields recharges your own. Overload strips shields and stops people from firing their guns once stripped. I like doing both. Sometimes, I'll use my area energy drain to strip and have someone use area overload to make a group of enemies sitting ducks when I go close quarters. They're quite complimentary skills. Overload has more uses though because it works on all defenseless enemies, while energy drain only shines with shielded enemies and geth,
